(Shut Up and Dance - Rookie)
It was the last period, and instead of being in class, Klaudette had ditched school to go to a nearby Starbucks to drink tall lattés with her girlfriends, and total hottie of a boyfriend, Sterling.
Klaudette sat with her perfectly natural tanned legs over Sterling’s at the table. Her hands were intertwined with his.
“So, I was thinking about throwing a bonfire party, because it’s the fall and stuff. What do you guys think?” Klaudette asked flipping back her thick golden-blonde curls.
Pippa Hale-Jaquardo piped up.
“That sounds like an awesome idea, Klaudette! My dad totally has stacks of old junk that we can burn.” She laughed. Everyone at the table laughed at her stupid joke, even though it wasn’t funny.
Pippa was one of Klaudette’s true besties. She had strawberry blonde hair that flowed in a pool on her shoulders, big green eyes, a natural tan and model’s legs. Not as nice as Klaudette’s, but close.
Pippa was sitting close to her boyfriend, Troy Damon who was a quarterback just like Klaudette’s wonderful beau, Sterling.
“Can I bring last fall’s failed coats?” Audrey Shep laughed shaking her long light brown, almost blonde, hair. Her honey coloured skin glowing in the dim light from the store.
Audrey was also one of Klaudette’s real friends. Klaudette’s other, best friend was Morgan Royston. But Morgan was only coming back to school next week, because she was in Arizona with family.
“You should, totally! It will be hilarious.” Klaudette laughed.
She took a sip of her tall vanilla latté.
The bell on top of the door rang, indicating a new customer walked in.
Klaudette looked up for interest’s sake, and it was a couple people from school.
She looked at her Guess watch and saw that school let out 15 minutes ago.
It was those freaky inseparable twins in her year and some new girl with pale hair. Gag.
“Who’s that?” Audrey asked turning her head around to look at the new trio.
“I dunno, but that girl’s supper pretty!” Pippa squeaked
Klaudette loved Pippa, but honestly, sometimes she was just too nice.
If you were going to be one of the popular girls, you had to be mean. But Pippa wasn’t.
“Anyway, back to my bonfire party-”
“Woah, her hair is totally white! It’s so cool!” Pippa was jumping in her seat. Troy was calming her down.
“So, I was thinking fairy lights on the back side of the house-”
“Did you guys realize that it’s the Rose Court Ball next month? I’m gonna apply to be Rose Court Queen!” Pippa said with a smile.
Klaudette gritted her teeth.
(Shut Up and Dance – Rookie ends)
“My mom was talking about the ball this morning.” Klaudette deemed herself and put her nose high in the air. She clutched Sterling’s hand even harder.
“Woah, babe, are you trying to dig your hands into mine?” Sterling laughed pulling his hands out of Klaudette’s.
“I wasn’t digging my hands into yours, Ster. I was holding them-”
