When I woke up, my head was pounding and my legs felt numb. I had to shake them a little to kick the feeling back in them. I pulled out my phone and it read 7:46 AM. School had already started and I didn't care. I wanted to drop out and do nothing with my life. I decided to call the school. I didn't notice it but my hands were trembling but it was to late to hang up because the phone was already answered.

"Wisconsin High calling. How may I help you?" The women's voice sounded lazy.

"Yes. This is Mrs. Santiga, Blaire's mother. I'm calling to inform the school that she will not be attending Wisconsin High anymore." I was impressed with my impression that I did of my mom. It was on point if I do say so myself.

"Oh, is there any reason for her drop out, that is, if she is dropping out?" Her voice, now curious.

"Yes, she will be attending an other school from now on."

Well ok. There are some paper work that you'll have to sign with some terms of agreement. You can come pick them up today if you'd like." My heart skipped a beat. I wasn't gonna stop now, I've gone to far to.

"Oh. I actually have been sick for the pass few days now. Could my daughter come to pick up the papers for me?"

"Yes that's perfectly fine with my. I'll have them set up right now."

"Oh thank you so much."

"No problem have a wonderful day Mrs. Santiga."

I can't believe she bought something like that. I was so happy. I was dropping out and I was happy. I quickly grabbed my moms keys and went to the car. I guess they belonged to me now. I kept thinking about her but tried to push the memories away. As I walked out of the house, my neighbor, Jim, was staring at me, probably wondering why I would be going to school at this time. Why can't old people understand tardys? But I wasn't late, cause I wasn't going to school. I was just going to pick up some papers for my "mom".

I got into the car and started it. As I was pulling out I turned the radio on and the song Cheep Thrills by CIA came on. It was the number one hit for America, and for me.

It was 8:16  when I got to my school. When I got inside, first period was in session. I walked down the hallway and at the end of it was the office. I only pushed the door open and it automatically closed after me.

"Hi" I said firmly.

"Hello. Are you tardy today?" The woman infrount of me was probably the same woman that was on the phone with me a hour earlier.

"No, I'm here to pick up the papers for my mother, Mrs. Santiga." I tried my best to sound innocent.

"Ah yes. Your....Blaire. Correct?"

"Yes that is correct."

"Ok. Wait one second." She leaned to the left side towards me and pulled out a drawer. Then she reached in and pulled out a stack of paper about an inch tall. My eyes widen in surprise and I guess she saw me cause then she replied to my reaction.

"I know right. Pretty big huh? Your moms gonna have fun filling this out."

You mean I'm gonna have fun filling it out.

She slid the piles of paper across her desk. Her desk was messy with a lot of other papers that read "detention" and "the weekly school paper". There were some paper clips scattered all over the papers but she seemed to know were everything was.

I took the pile, said thank you, and nodded my head down, just enought to not make it a bow. As I was about to put my guilty hands on the door nob, she said something that nearly gave me a heart attack.

"Oh. Before I forget. What school will you be attending at in Massachusetts?" My heart pounded in fear. I had no clue what school there were there. The only thing I knew about was that there was a place called Merthena? No! Methuen. So I lied from there.

"Methuen High." I said

"Ohhh. That's a great school. I herd that they gave iPads there. But not to keep, just for school purposes."

"Yeah. Pretty cool." I said, not even knowing they did that.

"Well have a wonderful day Blaire."

"You too." I said as I opened the door with the papers in my hand.

The hallway was less busy, but there were still a few people here and there. As I walked down the hall, I saw at the corner of my eye, someone that looked very familiar to me. Then I realizes who it was. It was my best friend, Jane.

I pulled my papers to the side of my face, trying my best not to get noticed my her, but it seemed that my plan didn't work because she immediately called out to me.

"OMG! You came today! I thought you were sick or something. I texted you about a billion times this morning." She was bouncy in here voice.

"Sorry. I've just been really busy." I said.

"Ok. Well your here now." Then, she flicked her eyes to the papers that were in my hand.

"What are those?" She said, curious.

"Oh, umm, there just some stuff that my mom needs to look at."

"Oh well that's cool. And speaking of your mom, I she ok, I heard my mom talking about her saying she was sick." Now she was toughing my shoulder but I stepped away.

"She fine." I said quickly.

"You know, if you need to talk to someone, I'm here for you." There was passion in her voice.

"I'm ok. But I have to go. My.. umm...mom is waiting for me. I'll see you, um later, I guess." My voice was so easy to detect that it was unsteady. I quickly rushed out of the school and into my car. I saw Jane run out of the school, in search of me.

I wanted to tell her so badly but I didn't want her to be all over me about the death. I pulled out of the school, hiding myself as Jane was on the watch. As I was driving home, I was looking at the papers that the woman in the office gave me. It all said a bunch of unneeded junk like my height and how much I weighed. Looking at the papers really made me think, should I be doing his right now, is this necessary? But I wanted to get out of that school. I pushes those thoughts out of my head and continued to drive.

When I got home, I right away started to fill out the paper. They wanted my moms work which I had no clue of. So I just put a huge N/A on the line. It was kinda sad that I didn't know her work but its not like I had to anyway. As I started to finish up there was a knock at my door. The inside of me spring up and I was surprised. Why would there be visitors? Are they here for my mom? Or is it the hospital? Those thoughts were being played over as I walked to the door.

And with a surprise to me, it was out of no where, my dad, Matthew.
