Times up.. Chapter one:

I sprint as fast as i can for as long as i can but its no use against the capitols technology. They catch up with me in a matter of seconds. I cant let them catch me. My family, i cant leave them forever, and if im in the capitols hands, thats what will happen. Suddenly i am sent crashing to the ground. With a peace keeper holding me by the hair.

I wake up in cold sweat. "Just a dream Alice, just a dream." I quietly say to myself. But no. It wasnt just a dream. I am at risk of me getting caught everyday. I risk my life for my brother Brady, and my mother Anna. But its all worth it, as long as there is food in my family's stomach, then i don't care if i get hurt.

At this time i am already awake and getting nervous at the thought of tomorrow is the reaping. The capitol is not to fond of me, for two reasons. I steal from them, everyday. Not because i am a terrible person, just simply because my family needs food more then anything.

My father was the only one who worked here in district 11. The only one who could give us decent food. He said it was too dangerous for us to take part in working. I wanted to... trust me. but When he told me this i was only 5. Not knowing all the dangers hidden beneath my simple life. When i was a kid, i was happy. No worries in the world. Until my father... my inspiration... got killed by a peace keeper.

The peace keeper caught him taking a bite of our harvest. So he publicly hung him. They made my mother and brother have front row seats. The peace keeper literally hand cuffed us to their side. They said it was our punishment for not working the jobs we were supposed to work, and his punishment for steeling. That day forward, i promised myself i would never do what the capitol said, ever again. And i was going to stick to my word.
