At two o'clock in the morning I awake to find myself laying in a pool of my own sweat. Dragomir stands motionless at the far end of the room with his arms folded across his chest. But he doesn't look at me. Instead, he just stares out the window into the night.

"Bad dream?" He asks.

"Yeah, you could say that."

I fling the covers off and stand on my own two feet, moving towards the door with Dragomir right behind me.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm going to the bathroom. Is that all right with you?"

"And then you're coming right back here."

I feel my eyes roll as I escape through the small opening in the door and tip-toe out into the hallway to the bathroom across the way. A heavy sigh leaves my parted lips as I turn on the overhead light and stand in front of the sink. I turn on the faucet and cup my hands together, forming a bowl as I splash some much needed cold water on my face.

Tiny droplets splatter my skin like tears as I grab the towel from the rack nearby and dry off before using the toilet to relieve myself. A quick flush followed by the flip of a switch, and suddenly I'm downstairs standing alone in the kitchen, searching for something to eat. I open the fridge and frown in disappointment when I see that nothing inside catches my interest.

A quick scan of the cabinets nearby reveals the same thing that is until I come across a packet of chocolate pudding cups. I tear one off and dig for a spoon before pulling off the protective shield. The creamy texture makes me smile as I relish the taste and lean against the kitchen counter. A figure appears out of the corner of my eye as I scrape against the bottom of the plastic cup and lick the spoon clean before putting it in the sink.

"You promised me that you would return to your room."

"And I intend to. But not until I have myself a little snack first."

I catch sight of Dragomir's powerful body standing in just enough light. The awning of his muscles show off quite nicely along with the sleeve tattoo on his right arm. Still naked, I see.

"Why aren't you wearing any of my clothes?"

"They don't fit." He growled softly as if irritated by my question.

"Well then I'm sorry, but they're gonna have to do until I can find the time to take you shopping." I turn to face him. "Let me ask you something. When you return to your human form are you always naked?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

He shrugs. "I really don't have an answer for it."

"Where do you live?"

"I cannot say."

"Can't or won't?"

"In time I will tell you. For now, you need to get back on upstairs."

I walk past him muttering under my breath as he grabs me by the arm and leans in close.

"Be careful what you say, little one. You may not like the response."

He lets go of me as I turn off the light and take to the stairs two at a time. I quietly step into my bedroom and look at the clock. Five AM. Shit! I didn't think it was that late. I get into bed and notice a difference in the sheets. Earlier the bedsheet was wet, now it's dry. Dragomir enters the room like a ghost as he closes the door behind him and takes his position over by the window.

"Did you change the sheets?"

He nods but he doesn't answer.

"Thank you." I say.
