"Ugh! That. Is. It. I am officially resigning from Starfleet." I said.
"Oh come on Alexis your say that every time you get fed up with your job. In the end you never quit." Captain says.
"Well this time i am SERIOUS."
"Oh really?"
"Yes really. What do you take me for a lier?"
"Well considering how-" I cut the captain off "Dont even THINK about answering." I walk away leaving those words and my resignation on his desk. For the past couple of months I have been taken advantage of by the crew and had enough. By the end of the week the captain had tried to persuade me but i stood my ground. As i was getting ready to leave and be dropped off at one of the medical stations Kiko came to say goodbye. "Dr. Gomez it has been a pleasure working for you." "Kiko you and i have been friends since the academy. So quit with all the formalities." I would be lying if i said i wasnt going to be missing Kiko. She and I have been through thick and thin. I touch my half of our friendship necklace. Then i realize i was crying I had promised Kiko that i would stay with her no matter what and i was breaking promise. That's what the necklace reminded me of. " I cant do this Kiko" " What do you mean Alexis." I call the captain and tell him i am changing my mind. I head straight for my office and get back to work.
