Overcome
Chapter 1
What?
Zaladane and Dante were washed up on the same side of the island, though a few hundred meters apart. Dante was the first to awaken.
{Dante's POV}
It was warm, like nothing was protecting me from the sun. I hesitantly opened my eyes, it was brought as hell. Where am I? Why am I on the shore? What the fuck happened? I looked around, then saw the plane sluggishly sinking into the ocean on the horizon. I knew what happened now. The pilot decided to knock off an hour of flight and fly through the bermuda triangle. Cocky bastard. He got everyone killed. Everyone but me. I sighed heavily, then looked around for anything else that happened to wash up. I looked to my right and saw a tall, rocky cliff that extended into the ocean. On my left was more of the beach, and a peculiar, blue... thing in the tide. What is it? I stood up shakily, how long was I asleep?
{Third Person POV}
Dante hobbled over to the blue hair he saw, yes it was hair. In fact it was Zaladane's hair. He was shocked to see that someone else survived, and that it was a cute girl. He kneeled down beside her, brushing the hair out of her face. An immensely adorable girl, he had to refrain from his squalid hopes until she woke up.
And it just so happens that she did. Zaladane woke up to the touch of Dante adjusting her hair. She swatted his hand away, initially thinking he was a bug. Her eyes shot open as she gazed up at him, then glared coldly.
{Zaladane's POV}
The fuck does this guy think he is? Touch me, pft whatever. He is a bit cute though, oh shut up Z you don't even know the kid's name.
I stared at him, right in the eyes. "Who are you?" I ask, then sit up suddenly, realizing that we're on the beach. Alone. What happened to the plane? My family? Oh god... I'm stranded here with an imbecile without my family... I'm gonna be completely alone...
{Third Person POV}
That, is Zaladane's biggest fear. Loneliness, being alone, perhaps forgotten. Dante's fear is quite gruesome, however. His greatest fear is being torn apart, and/or eaten alive.
This should be interesting.
{Zaladane's POV}
"I'm Dante, Dante Ryder." He answered, standing up slowly and offering his hand to help me up. I brushed it off and stood up myself, slightly wobbly at first but gaining my land legs back after a few seconds. "I'm Zaladane Dixon," I said shortly, trying to avoid his gaze as I looked out to the ocean longingly. I could still feel his eyes on me though, staring at me. I sighed. "There goes my ride..." I mumbled, then cursed a few words under my breath. I heard Dante chuckle a little, "mine too." He said. I looked up at him, squinting with the sun in my eyes. Why us?
Dante shrugged. "Fate." He said, I must've been thinking aloud, damn it. I do that too much...
I sighed again. "Fate? Yeah, right." I growled then turned to the side and looked at the forest. It's tempting me to go in there, just to explore. I think I will.
