They sped past down the hill, their skateboards threatening to break. Morgan whooped and gained more speed, her brown hair flying behind her, and zoomed past Gerald. She reached the bottom just as her board flipped over, making her face smack into the soft green grass. As she was getting up, Gerald, who was reaching the bottom of the hill, tripped and landed on top of her. He blushed and tried to stand up, however, the grass was damp and he slipped over again. After a few minutes they both managed to get up, Gerald's face tinged red, Morgan grinning like she had just won the lottery.
"That was awesome!" She yelled, "Let's do it again!"
"Are you sure it didn't hurt?" Gerald asked. Morgan shook her head and took Gerald's hand, pulling him up the hill with her. Gerald didn't want to hurt himself again, but he didn't protest. He didn't want to leave Morgan on her own, especially after what he saw on the news.It was 6pm and Morgan was finally getting bored. She and Gerald had spent the entire day racing down the hill, climbing trees and running around the field.
"Hey, Morgan, I'm getting hungry. Maybe we should head back home." Gerald said, slightly out of breath.
"Yeah, I guess so." Morgan said as they began to walk across the field. She picked up a small branch and swung it like a sword, attacking leaves and bushes. She smacked a certain bush and heard a startling yelp. She jumped back, bumping into Gerald, as a man rose up. He was wearing tattered and torn brown clothes and had a pair of binoculars around his neck. His face was covered in dirt and he had some stubble around his chin. His longish black hair was so messy it looked like a group of squirrels had been vigorously break dancing in there.
"Hah. Mah name's Fernandez." He said, his left eye twitching. Gerald gasped and took a few steps back. This was the kidnapper that had been on the news.
"Hey... Uh... Maybe we should go..." Gerald said to Morgan.
"Yeah. I don't like the look of this guy." she replied as they quickly walked away through the woods.
