"We make such a cute couple. Don't we?" I smile as I act so dumbly. Twirling my hair and chewing my gum obnoxiously. I have become another person. I have changed my mindset and story into another human. I have become Alexandra Dereds. I am a model for Calvin Klein and spend my days watching horrible chick flicks and sleeping with Rick Dowsky.
"Oh, yes of course," says the girl as she frowns deeper.
"Aw, thank you. I like you! You're like a cute puppy that would follow me around. Whats your name? Demi?" I ask nonchalantly knowing her actual name.
"Lia," she says obviously hurt I didn't remember.she has a long face with very big eyes. She is very petite and has an hourglass figure. She is definitely a high society girl. I can tell by her great high-lights and her dependence on scotch.
"I love your hair, but those highlights..." I say. Her hands fly to her head self-consciously.
"Oh, well how long have you two been dating?" She asks sipping on her scotch.
"Well, he's been my booty-call for a month, but we've been dating for two days now," I say wiggling my two fingers.
"So Lia, how's your boyfriend Jeremy doing?" Rick asks hiding his fiery jealousy. Rick is cute enough with Sandy blonde hair and the prettiest blue eyes I'd ever seen.
"Oh, um actually I just broke up with him. Remember when I saw you two briefly at Guidos? Well, I saw just how unhappy I was when you two just acted so damn happy," she says sadly.
"Well, I'll see you later Lia," Rick says as she retreats back to her table.
"Great work! God Jenna, you're such a great actress! It was great seeing you again, but it looks like your time is up," he says.
"Thanks Rick, it's always a pleasure working for you. You know where to send the money. Now, lets finish this show," I say.
I grab my coat from the back of my chair and start crying dramatically as I run out of the building. The girl is looking very happy. Surprise surprise. I'm a genius.
I pull out my phone as I come to a stop at my car.
"Russell, another success. He got the girl," I say.
"Girlll, you are too good at this stuff," he says.
"Course Russell. Thanks, Do I have any more clients for tonight?" I ask.
"Well actually a two clients. Of course the regular Dan Santad and then Drew Jilt," he said
I groaned at the name of my regular Dan. He's been hiring me for the past few months because he is totally and completely in love with me. But, Russell and I can't reject the business. He pays triple what our other clients pay. He isn't too bad. Also, it's hard being in this business. You can't have commercials because than girls would start getting suspicious. We only get clients if they came looking for us.
But men were idiots and needed help. Or course dating wasn't my only use. I also help with murders. If they can prove to me that they didn't do it I'll help them. For a price. Russell's once been hired to try and mug a man so he could act manly in front of his girlfriend. I've also pretended to be the mother of a boy when a private detective was looking for the real mother. Boy, did that job pay well.
I remember Drew Jilt all too well. I had helped him get out of a murder sentence scot free. Then, when it was all said and done Drew confided in me after a drunken celebration that he did do it. Jilt was dirty. Drew was a very important man and I couldn't risk getting involved with them. I also, couldn't risk angering him by not showing up. I wondered what he had in store for tonight.
