Chapter 1

*Michelle's POV*

5 years earlier

The music starts to play through Stars Dance studio in Madison. As I do a pirouette and work on my ballet routine. I hear footsteps behind me as I continue dancing. The music stops a half hour later and I look to see who it is. Sitting on the pink chairs Hunter is sitting there. He stands up and stares at me for a few minutes. "That was amazing Michelle. I'm upset your leaving here." He sighs

"Hunter I'll miss you so much. I don't want to leave but I have to. It's fate." I say to him.

Smiling he hugs me and says "I'll miss you so much. That was your last dance I'll see you perform."

I split from the hug and pick up my dance bag from shelve and begin leaving the studio. Hunter follows me out the door to my moms car. He waves goodbye and yells "Bye Michelle I'll miss you love you. You are the Michelle to my friend group."

I turn around and smile at him. Waving at him I get into my car and we begin to drive away. We are headed to Canada today. That's where my new studio is. It's a better studio then Stars Dance. That's why I'm switching. I love Hunter but, I love dance more then him. As my flawless blonde hair blows in the wind my mom tries to talk to me. I ignore her I'm to focused on dance. I've done research on The Next Step. They have such cool people that will be easy to overthrow for dance captain.

Back to present day

*Riley's POV*

Regionals was finally over the drama was all still there. It's been a summer since then and the drama hasn't stopped or slowed down. The whole summer without dance Daniel and James are still fighting over me and it's been hard. Emily is still in a relationship with Hunter and they've been going on for a while now and every then and again Eldon will go and be upset all the time because he still loves her. Today are the first auditions for the new team. The whole team isn't going to be there this year. But I overheard that Kate saying that there may be two A troupes. Well A troupe 1.0 and A troupe 2.0.

I begin to stretch and James sneaks up behind me and scares me. "What are you doing James. I'm trying to practice for auditions." I say rudely

"What we aren't even auditing Kate already said there were going to just make two troupes." He says

Ugh I say to him. Turning around I can see James is upset. Kate comes out of her office and calls us all out. Smiling at all twenty of us she says "I'm excited to say officially there will be two teams for A troupe. So I have the lists in my hand and I'm putting them on the wall." Turning around she tapes the lists to the wall and everyone runs towards them."
