Lori POV

Someone knocked and I couldn't stop blushing. Did they hear me scream?Who is it? Family? Friend? Pack? Questions kept coming. Oh gosh, I hope it's not his parents. That would be so embarrassing I would not be able to look them in the eye. I know it's only natural for mates but....

My mate groaned before rolling over and covering me with the sheets while throwing on some pants. I got to tell you I could get used to this view. I smirk more to myself. Adam caught my smirk and laughed kissing my lips. He deepened the kiss before another knock was heard.

He growled and mindlinked them to come in. It was his beta Eric who realized what went down before he interrupted. He blushed looking at me as I did because I had no clothing but a sheet. Not how I wanted to meet his beta.

He looked down to the floor when Adam growled and possessively stood in front of the bed which blocked his betas view of me.

Adam growled "WHAT DO U WANT?"

Adam was clearly pissed so I gathered the sheets and made sure to cover my ladybits.  I hugged him from behind. He immediately relaxed. Eric his beta cleared his throat before telling Adam that there was an emergency with  rouges. With that he signed and turned to me. I was still hugging him when he looked down at me and smiled warmly.

My mate said" I'm sorry but I got to take care of pack business. "

"Ok. Bye" I said.

With a kiss in my lips he left. It kinda hurt and bothered me that he didn't want me to be involved in pack business. I could not help think negative thoughts such as maybe he was ashamed of me for being a newly awakened wolf.

Maybe he did not believe I could lead.  My wolf whimpered not liking where my thoughts were headed. He is a good man right? I only known him for a few months, can I really trust him? Does he love me? Was I the only one to hold his heart.

That's what I plan to find out whether he may like it or not. He is my other half I should trust in him. When did I become so negative?

To take my mind off of a certain someone I decided to walk around. I already knew the layout from when I first came here.

I smiled thinking back how I fell asleep in my mates bed. What a conscience. It's funny how out of all the rooms I chose his.

Looking around I find myself already downstairs in the kitchen. My stomach chose the time to make its presence known by growling loudly. But I'm not the only one in the kitchen; two kids are. A girl and boy both around seven and clearly siblings. Twins. So cute.

The boy is making stairs for his sister with pots and pans basically anything they can reach or stand on. Laughing loudly they turn towards me only to see the girl about to fall. I swear it happened In slow motion because the next thing I'm right there catching her on time.

I almost had a hard attack. She cries clinging to me for dear life it seemed. I sign in relief. We may be werewolves but that didn't mean we could not get hurt or die.

Plus she is just a child. Or course you would save them. If not your messed up and can suck it. That's just plain cruel. 

I gently rock her until she stopped sobbing. She pulled back a little to get a look at me.

She said " tank you miss" kindly smiling at her I smile and almost laughed  when she said tank not thank. But I did not want to embarrass her.

I introduced myself as "Lori. "

She said "Mila Downs and tis is my bawther Nikoli but I call him Nicky. "

Nikoli glared at her. She stuck her tongue out at him. I laughed. They are so adorable. I offer to cook them something and there faces lit up at the word food. The twins eagerly sat on the table talking to each other.

I smiled warmly at them. So this is what it's like to have kids. I can't wait to have some of my own. I made breakfast in fifteen minutes from. Pancakes,eggs, and bacon. I set there plates down only to see them gobble it up.

I said " breathe. The food is not going anywhere if you want more I can make it."

Mila blushed once she realized she was caught pigging out. She ate slower while Nicky ate like a man starved. I only smiled.

(Later that day)

After the talk with the twins I decided to take things into my own hands. Never did I ever think to educate myself on Adams deceased wife.

Well, that was until the twins accidentally mention it . I wasn't mad but curious. How did she die?
Why has he forbidden his pack to discuss or even acknowledge her presence here as former Luna?

I know she died and it might be a sore subject but... Isn't the whole part of grieving, is to learn to deal with their loss and continue on? So many questions but no answers.

Anyways, I already knew the layout to our house but I wanted to find out more info on Lorena (Adams deceased mate).

She must've been a genuine person as well as a great leader for all his Pack to love her.

I walked through hallways trying to find a library or photos of her. Its easier said than done. Four hours later, all I have found is a big fat nothing.

I was just about to give up when something caught my eye. I guess when i was not paying attention I've wondered into a secret passageway into a grand room. I guess the challenge would be finding a way out since I do not know which way I came.
