Pacer Test

The Beginning

The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

Kathy, Lucas, and Mr. Rock have never talked to each other before, but here they are standing near each other on one side of the gym staring at the other side. All of them wishing they wouldn't have to run. They heard the beep. Mr. Rock rolled to the other side of he gym with ease. Lucas along with 12 other students have made it over to the other side. Kathy on the other hand fell flat on her face. Lucas saw this, so he ran back. "NO MAN GETS LEFT BEHIND!" he yelled after helping Kathy up. They both ran to the other side of the gym barely making it.  Once Lucas and Kathy were safely on the other side Lucas turned to Kathy and said "Be careful out there. It's a vicious land, full of cannibals and carnivores." He paused "Its the apocalypse". "Oh, I know it." replied Kathy. The beep was heard again. All the students rushed to get to the other side of the gym. Mr. Rock made it and he tried to say something, but he soon realized he couldn't since he was only a rock. He stared at Lucas and Kathy wishing they could understand him. The third beep was heard. It was the same routine as before, everyone rushing to the other side of the gym. Lucas was there shouting "NONE LEFT BEHIND" while he helped the poor souls that had fallen. Mr. Rock once again tried to call out to anyone that could hear him, but he only made the sound of muffled screaming. The fourth beep was heard, but this time Lucas didn't make it. He fell to his knees and yelled to the heavens "WHYYYYYYYY!"
