Anna's POV:
I sit patiently in the waiting area at the airport, holding Lisa's hand and trying not to cry.
We were finally getting away from this sick life and moving to the city of love - Paris. I sniff just thinking about being there without Lisa. We both got a scholarship to attend a private school there, but Lisa couldn't start untill next year... She wouldn't let me stay behind and miss my chance of leaving.
So here I am, cuddling with Lisa and waiting for my flight to be called. I close my eyes, listening to Lisa's steady heartbeat. I wouldn't be able to hear it again for year.
"Flight 413 now ready for boarding. Flight 413 ready for boarding," the static-like voice says ((Homestuck, anyone?)). I sigh and stand up, not letting go of Lisa's hand. She stands up and brushes my hair out of my face, smiling. If she's sad that I'm leaving, she's good at hiding it. Together, we walk to my waiting area.
Lisa stops when we reach the area. She pulls me into a hug and runs her fingers through my hair. "I'm going to miss you so much, Anna," she mumbles into my hair. I stay silent, knowing that if I try to speak, I'll only start crying.
Lisa pulls away from the hug and looks into my eyes for a long time. I stare back, smiling slightly. She smiles, too, and pulls me in for a kiss. I sigh through the kiss and smile against her lips.
I wouldn't be kissing her again for a whole year...
Lisa runs her finger up my spine, making me recoil, giggling.
"Lisa - HAHA - stop!" I say, pushing her away.
She laughs. "Hey, we can't be all sad the last time we see each other for a year."
Lisa gives me one last hug before stepping back and smiling. "See you in a year, Anna."
I look down. "Yeah."
"Call me when you get there, 'kay?"
I nod and turn around, walking to the lady taking the tickets.
It was going to be a long year...
