It was a lovely day in Sunshine Kindergarten. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and there wasn't a cloud in sight.
The blue-haired girl stood alone in the shadows, watching everyone else play with their friends and having fun. All alone. No one ever talked to her. No one wanted to be her friend. No one.
Why? She never knew. Was it her hair color? Or her personality? Her anger issues? Irene knows, but no matter why, they didn't want to play with her.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the girl that walked in through the gates. A new girl. The new girl they said was coming. She had arrived early.
The new girl walked in and looked around, immediatly spotting the lonely girl in the shadows since her bright blue hair stood out like a neon sign on a winter night. Curious, she walked over.
The blue-haired girl looked up when a pair of legs suddenly appeared in front of her. The newcomer had black hair and orangy-brown eyes that sparkled with happiness and curiousity. "Hi!" The girl said nervously. "I'm new here and I was wondering if you could help me." The blue-haired girl looked shocked. This girl was talking to her, and she was being nice!
At that moment a boy came over. He was the one who usually picked on the blue-haired girl. He whispered something to the new girl, but she could still hear what he said. "Don't talk to her. She's a loser. I can help you." The blue-haired girl looked down. Her eyes stung with tears. Now they were going to leave her.
"No thank you. I can choose my own friends." The reply shocked them both. The blue-haired girl looked up in surprise and saw that the new girl had crossed her arms and was glaring at the boy. Too shocked to answer, the boy just nodded and ran away as the blue-haired girl made a mental note, not to anger this girl. Her death glares were terrifying.
"Thank you." She said quietly. The new girl looked down. Her head was blocking out the sun, making a halo of light around her head. She looked like an angel.
"No problem." The new girl smiled. "I'm Aphmau, what's your name?" She asked. The blue-haired girl returned the smile. "Katelyn. Are you my friend now?" The new girl laughed. "Of course we are! Friends forever?"
The blue-haired girl smiled. Her happiness was lighting up her face. Her eyes were sparkling with excitement.
"Friends forever."
