I have had a pretty easy life, friendship wise, as me and my friends grew as teens, our personalities blossomed. I was into twenty øne piløts the others were into up to date songs and were calling me "emo" for listening to bands like that.
I started getting an dodgy feeling about them when they were talking to eachother privately and especially not including me in stuff.
Ellis was the first to get a boy friend.
She said that they were "in love" and they were "star-crossed lovers", we were 15. Mavis and I were worried about where Ellis's and Jackson's relationship was leading to.
It was a day in May where Ellis came into school with a big beam stretching from ear to ear, her first words were " Do I look different?" And Mavis and I knew exactly what happened. I felt like a Mum educating her on consent , safe sex and all that jazz.
She flipped out a me and Mavis, screaming about her own choices and to go and control someone else's life.
She mentioned how my name was stupid and that I should be made a slave, just like the film my name is associated with.
She said that Mavis's name was old and how she acted like a fat old lady. She said Mavis smelt like cabbage and was born in the 1930s.
That day I had it, I was about to enter a new adventure of friendship. Ellis had tipped me over the edge, just like she wanted to.
