Ignorance in Bliss

When you were child did you ever think

The world was full of monstrosities?

Full of evils, rubble, and insanities?

I was just like you, in bliss of ignorance

Did you think that fluffy unicorns sang

And danced and played 'till the sunset came?

When you went outside, shock hit you hard,

Like a tackle in football, hard as a brick wall.

As a child, your parents protected you

Made sure you were safe, and cleaned your boo boos

When you went outside, did you feel a pang of fear

Did you feel that little innocence suddenly disappear?

I was just like you, in bliss of ignorance

'Till I realized that life on TV was actually a mask

To hide the attendance of evil servants

and stealthy rats....

When you played with your dolls did you really think that

You'd be like them? Successful and so very impotent?

You found out, you're just like them..

"Just another toy for the governments playpen"

When you were a teenager, you thought you knew what to do.

How to be successful, and get your own job.

You would say, "Good riddance!" You thought there wasn't a flaw.

Well, you were really wrong. You weren't right at all.

I was just like you, high hopes and dreams.

That's when I went outside, when they tore at my seams.

I thought I was strong, and indeed I was

But honestly, it was a culture shock. My innocence was turned off.

When you were young, your mind was creative

So happy, and amazing, you were a blooming flower.

When you went outside, your mind got too much water

It withered up, it was manipulated.

When you got older, let's say mid-thirties

You were done with those feelings, and over the parties.

You had a life! You finally had a good job!

You must be kidding; all you had was fog.

I was just like you

Culture shock and everything.

Yeah, I had my dreams...

But did you know I also had to keep living?

Yeah, you're in your thirties, but your mind is still a whiny child
