A haunting whisper echoed in the back of his mind, soon becoming more whispers. Each one louder than the other as if trying to be heard clearly above the rest. Every voice angry and taunting him.
"Monster!"
"Kill him!"
"Demon!"
"Don't trust!"
Louder and louder they became making his ears ring and his mind foggy. He knew those voices all of them belonged to the people of Gravity Falls. The people he tormented, tricked, and used.
"Kill him!"
"Destroy him!"
Hate laced their tones, their anger burning so hot he could feel sweat pouring down the sides of his face.
Hands suddenly clawed at his clothes, coming out from the darkness and dragging him. He couldn't do anything, he couldn't see them, he couldn't do anything to stop them. His body was limp and heavy like he'd been drugged only enough to keep him aware of his surroundings.
Bill could feel the coldness of dirt, the noise of gravel grinding against his bare back as he was pulled along.
"Stop. What are you doing?" He wanted to say, but his mouth never moved, his voice silenced. He felt the presence of them all, some dragging him and some following, surrounding him in a circle of his own enemies. All of them closed around him.
How odd was it, to be the victim. To be in the shoes of those he's tormented in the past. Vulnerable, frightened, and weak. The demon was now prey and all of them hungry for their well deserved revenge.
Everything stopped suddenly, the voices were silenced, and his body was dropped. He laid there unmoving, forced to wait for something to happen. It felt like hours, days before anything happened. Suddenly, his sight was given to him. The darkness fled.
Oh, how he would have much rather have stared forever into the darkness than to see the sight that he had before him.
All around him, staring down at him with such malice in their eyes. Each pair of eyes burning deeper into his soul making the him feel incredible small.
"Bind him and turn him around." A familiar masculine voice was heard. He knew that voice, he'd known it for years. The very same man he'd first used as his puppet was now pulling the strings.
Ford stepped forward a sharp blade in hand. Their eyes met for a brief moment before Bill's wrists were tied together and he was forced onto his stomach.
"Its time you pay, Bill. For every ounce of pain you caused us all. For all your torment, your chaos, and your trickery." Ford said calmly, there was no longer anger, but..perhaps a hint of triumph? To finally get revenge not only for everyone else but for himself?
"Wha..what are you doing!?" The demon's voice suddenly started working. "S-Six Fingers just let me go!" His cries fell on deaf ears.
Ford knelt down and his hand was placed on Bill's back and for a moment the tip of the blade rested on his skin, the cool metal sending shivers down his back.
"Stop!!"
A cry of pain rang through the air as the blade sunk in right into his left shoulder blade, slicing into his flesh like a hot knife through butter. It didn't stop there, the blade shifted and began cutting into his flesh more, little by little it moved.
Warm blood poured from the wound staining his pale flesh and warming the blade.
Cries of agony grew louder as the knife carved a circle into his back before it was pulled out giving Bill a moment of reprieve.
His whole body trembled, pain was no longer hilarious, it was agonizing, warm, messy.
Everyone was watching him, Pine Tree, Shooting Star, Question Mark, Wendy, Stanley, all of the townspeople. None of them reacted, each waiting patiently for the punishment to be dealt.
The blade pierced into his back once more, inside of the circle this time. A steady hand guiding the sharp object like an artist with a paintbrush. Bill's backside, the canvas.
"STOP! S-STOP IT! E-ENOUGH! He cried, tears beginning to appear in the corner of his eyes. He couldn't stand it and little did he know it was only starting.
It seemed like ages Ford was carving an intricate design all over his body, if Bill wasn't in pain and wasn't on the verge of passing out he might have been able to tell that the design was slowly forming a dream catcher.
Ford stood up, the blade clattering to the ground. "Now your full punishment begins." He told the demon.
Bill laid on the ground, tears mixing now with the dirt that covered his face. "I'm sorry..please..n..no more." He pleaded. But the pain grew suddenly worse, overwhelming him with a burning torturous agony.
Pleads turned to scream as the dream catcher burned his flesh the marking permanent.
"Remember this pain Bill. Remember this as the amount of agony you've inflicted on each and every person in Gravity Falls, on my family. You will heal but the pain will stay. That mark will scar you for eternity, and nothing will be able cure it. Nothing can help you."
"N-No!" Bill shot up from his bed, heavy pants escaping him, sweat covering his entire body.
It was only a nightmare. He was in his room, safe. There was no one. No Six fingers, no Stanley, none of them. Just the darkness and Bill himself.
Bill rubbed his throat. It felt raw like he really had been screaming for hours.
"It..was only a nightmare. Just...a nightmare." He repeated, holding his head as he shook. He kept telling himself that, but it felt so real. He swore he could still feel the dream catcher burning into his back.
"J..Just a ...b..bad dream.."
