The ride took off. It went up and down and sideways and tumbled upside down.. It made me so dizzy. The coaster was so scary and fast my eyes didn't even open. It only took seconds but memories popped in my head. Like the times where I had my first teeth removed in the dentist, my first time to go to the United States, and the first time I fell off the stairs because I was clumsy. Oh and there was also a time my mom shouted at me too because I dropped a glass of water and the glass made mom's bleed. Ooooops. And there were so so so much more.
My eyes finally opened. I was lying in bed. I was beside my favourite teddy bear that's as big as me and I cuddled it soooo tight because I missed it so much. I was already in my home town Lipa City, the place where I also got born. In my left left, I saw a pack of dextrose inserted on the wrist of my left hand and to my right I see the sun shining so bright and by that, I already knew it was a gonna be a good day.
"We're gonna have a big day today, giant," I said to my bear.
No one was with me in the room, so I just patiently waited for my parents to come, since I cannot move my feet. One hour passed and no one visited me yet. But still, I was excited to let them know I was already awake. My parents are taking so long to visit me so I decided to to visit them myself instead. I stood up from my bed and whoa my legs were as wobbly as gelatin.
"MOM, DAD, I'M HOME!!!"
Why was the house so quiet?
"Mommy? Daddy?"
I was gonna go in their room but I decided to knock first. But when I knocked, no one was opening the door.
"Hello???" I was waiting for them to open up.
All of a sudden, I heard someone go up the stairs.
"Mommy, Daddy?" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
But it wasn't them. Instead I saw a lady who still looked young went up the stairs. She looked really tired and exhausted cause she had big eye bags. But when she saw me she her eyes widened and looked shocked.
"ALICE!!!," she ran up to me and hugged me afterwards.
"Who are you?" I was starting to feel scared. The tears from her eyes wet my t-shirt.
"I'm your aunt," she tucked my hair behind my ear," You've been sleeping for nearly two weeks now."
"Really? I don't know you," I was confused, "Where's mommy and daddy?"
"Ummm. I would actually want to talk to you about that later.. " she sniffed her nose. "But as of the moment, you'll be staying with me okay?" She says with a smile, "Don't worry we're gonna have lots of fun together. I'll read you bedtime stories, spend time playing with you.. We can also go to malls if you want! Go shopping and buy you new toys.. " she wiped her eyes.
"Will they be back soon?" I really want to see them.
"Yes, they will sweetheart," she avoided me eyes, "Umm. So anyway, I heard your favourite food for breakfast are pancakes? Would you like to have some?"
"Yes please, I miss that," I replied.
