*small fic for instagram contest*
"Dan?"- Phil called out from the entrance of the apartment. He had just returned from a trip to town and couldn't wait to speak to him.
"Ye-es? I'm in the kitchen!" Dan shouted back. "Come on in"
Phil came into the kitchen to find their table full of food and sweets. "Oh god Dan, did you make all this?"
"Yeah, you know, its our 4th anniversary.. in case you forgot." Dan winked at Phil and went next to him. He held both his hands and kissed him softly on the cheek.
Phil smiled and kissed dan's lips.
"Of course I didn't. How could I?" Phil whispered softly against Dan's lips.
He hadn't forgotten. In fact he had been planning this night for the whole week. He wanted to take Dan somewhere beautiful and give him something really special, a yellow teddy bear.
In their second anniversary Phil gave Dan a teddy bear. He remembers the big smile on Dan's face, the happy glint in his eyes. Dan kept the teddy during the years but sadly, it got lost while their were moving to London. They searched for it everywhere but couldn't find it. They eventually gave up and let the sadness take them for a few days. The teddy bear was really special.
But tonight, Phil had plans. He was going to take Dan to a hill and watch the stars with him. There, while they were watching the stars gleaming, he would give him a yellow teddy bear exactly like the one he gave Dan 2 years ago.
Phil kissed Dan again, wrapping his arms around Dan's waist "I love you" Phil whispered.
"I love you too" Dan whispered back.
"Well this is great! Help me pack the food Dan, we are going out in 30 minutes." Phil said as he arranged some containers.
"Okay, where are we going?"
"Surprise"

35 minutes later they were almost ready to leave the house. Dan wore one of Phil's shirts, a yellow one, out of pure coincidence. And Phil wore Dans ring tee, which he had never worn before. They both set out the house with a picnic basket and called a taxi, just for a change. They reached a hill on a more isolated part of London 45 minutes later, no one else was there. It was around 7 pm and the sun was setting, it was a beautiful view in a beautiful day. They settled down.
"Woah, look at this sky, its so yellow!" Phil noticed "in about 2 hours it will be pitch black. Then we can lay down and watch the stars together, what do you think?"
" That's perfect Phil" Dan smiled
They sat down and started eating. They talked happily during the 2 hours, sometimes they would have silent pauses but the silence was never awkward. They had each other company, they were there for each other even if they weren't talking.
Fast the hours passed and the sky got darker, you could see every star perfectly. Every little shinny point in the sky smiling down at them.
Phil was laying with his back on the blanket, a arm behind his head and another around Dan. Dan had his head resting on Phil's chest, a arm wrapped around Phil's waist.
Phil looked down at Dan who was staring happily at the stars and kissed the top of his head.
"Dan, I have something to give you." Phil whispered into Dan's hair.
"What is it?" Dan asked quietly. Neither of them wanted to break the quiet and calm atmosphere around them.
"Close your eyes" Phil said.
Phil reached for the basket where he had managed to hide the teddy bear and took it out hovering it in front of Dan.
"You can open your eyes now, love" Phil spoke quietly.
Dan opened his eyes and they immediately widened as he noticed what Phil had in his hands. He looked up at Phil who smiled and held him tighter. Dan quickly turned around facing him and gave him a huge hug which made Phil lean down on the hill with Dan over him. They said nothing for the next minutes, words meant nothing compared to how happy Dan actually was. He couldn't put it in words. It was amazing how a yellow teddy bear would make a person so happy. Phil stroked Dan's hair, he kissed his cheek and closed his eyes, breaking eye contact. It was going to be a long night.
