"Mom, why do I have to do this?" I whined for the umpteenth time.
"Eliza, I have already told you why. Stop whining like a baby."
"I don't wanna do this!!" I dragged out.
"Well too bad, cause I am your manager as well as your mother. You have to do just as I say. And I am not doing anything wrong for you. You need a break after so many years of endless work. I would never do anything that would prove wrong for you." My mum said gently, patting my hair.
"But I love my life." I cried out.
"And I love you." My mum smiled at me.
"Then why are you doing this?" I was still not giving up.
"It's because I love you that I am doing this." My mum tried to make me understand.
I slumped on the couch in my dressing room, and my only best friend and cousin Serena walked in laughing loud.
"You know, celebrities actually hate the fact that they work all the time, and would do anything for a break. What's wrong with you?"
"I love my life." I shrugged and repeated what I had said to my mother.
"Yeah, but don't you ever wonder how would it be to get a proper education? A high school experience?" She wondered.
"No. I am already getting my education, and I love Mrs, Anderson." I said. Mrs. Anderson is my private teacher, well not anymore. Because starting from this August, I'll be joining a high school.
"Yeah, but don't you ever wonder what it will be like to have friends? A boyfriend?"
"It's not like I haven't attended school at all. I went to school till my eighth grade." I pointed out. "Plus, I already have a best friend." I gestured towards her.
It's true, Serena has been there for me from the start. Even though she could not visit me all the time because she had school and I was always busy, she tried her best to keep in touch with me through my mother and visiting me whenever she got a chance to do so.
"And I don't need a boyfriend." I added after an afterthought.
"Oh God, you are such a liar." She rolled her eyes, and then smirked, "You still like Aaron, don't you?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" I feigned ignorance, and hoped that a blush wasn't rising.
"Aaron that was in our circle? Well he still is, but anyway, don't pretend. I know that you have his picture in your gallery." And then she became serious, propping her elbow and holding her chin in her hands her. "Although, I must admit it's a bit- OK not a bit, but very pedophilic staring at an eighth grader like that."
I widened my eyes, and she burst out laughing. I tried to deny it, but she shouted out, "Don't even try to deny it. I have seen you doing that!" She said in between her laughs.
By now I was blushing too hard. But what she did next made me get up and chase after her to shut her mouth. "Eliza and Aaron sitting in a tree...."
"Oh my God! Okay okay! I am sorry. I'll stop now." She shrieked out laughing, after I had lunged at her, and was sitting on top her tickling her so that she would just shut up.
After she promised she'd stop teasing me, and we both had calmed down, she asked me, "Don't you ever wonder, what he would now look like?"
To be honest, I did. Aaron was my first crush, and before I had become famous, we were best friends. We had known each other since kindergarten, and since then we had formed a group of friends. Of me, Serena, and two other girls, Daisy and Rose. Those two were twins, and along with Aaron, there were other three boys; Alec who is now Serena's boyfriend, Jacob and Callum.
But after I had become famous, I had lost touch slowly and gradually with all my best friends except for Serena. Yes, I tried to maintain a proper relation with them, but I had gotten so busy. Plus, I was in a different country.
Like always, Serena had come to visit me because of her vacations, and also because my mother had told her about the plan of me going to school, she was there to help me adjust to the idea.
"Hello? Are you there?" She waved in my face. "Or are you too busy daydreaming about him?" She smirked.
I whacked her in the head, which led to her hitting me back and this went for a little while till my mother came in, breaking up our harmless fight and making me remember the stupid plan of hers.
It is pretty stupid actually. How am I supposed to live a 'peaceful' life, if I am starting high school? People will surely recognise me.
That's what I asked them. "I wont be able to have a peaceful year anyway. People will recognise me straight out." Hoping that this might change their opinion.
"Are you stupid?" Serena asked giving me a blank look. "You will be getting a makeover, so nobody would be able to recognise you."
"Are you kidding me?!" I asked horrified. "A makeover?"
"Come on Eliza, you drama queen. You already get so many makeovers during every concert and stuff. One more won't hurt you." My mom rolled her eyes.
"Mom, those aren't makeovers. Those are simply just at times changing my hairstyle, or adding hair extensions. I don't completely change myself." I explained her slowly.
"Oh, same difference." She waved her hand.
"We have only a week to change you, so we should get a start on. I have to deal with a lot of stuff too, regarding your break and all, so please don't make it hard in me." She added, and left again.
"I am making it hard on her? She is the one giving me a freaking makeover, that I know will look ridiculous on me." I grumbled.
Serena who was silently laughing the whole time, put a comforting hand on my shoulder, feigned sympathy. "Oh honey, don't worry. I personally think that you will rock the nerd look."
"The what look?" I yelled out.
"Oops." Her eyes widened, as she realized that she shouldn't have said that.
At the same time, my mother came in with my stylist, Andy (short for Andrea), and said, "Let's start on your makeover, yeah?"
Oh man, Miley Cyrus has got nothing on me....
