Part One: Life
Yawn, Daniel Joshua Harper was awake, he began to get out of bed, right foot, left foot, Dan. Another yawn, he began to tread downstairs of his two storey flat, he went down to the kitchen. He brushed his hand through his brown, mousy hair, there was so much grease in his hair you could fry bacon in it, well that's what his friend, Corey Fletcher had said to him on the first day of Queens University. Dan and Corey remained freinds since Uni. His hand came out of his grease filled hair and went down to his pyjama bottoms where he continued to wipe them to clear the substances he had found while rubbing his hair away. Also downstairs was Nina, Dan's on again off again girlfriend, Nina Castellano was a 22 Year Old Model who, three years older than Dan, was supporting him from since when Dan was sixteen so he could move in her flat and they could live together. He began to put his hands around her waist and went in for a kiss when the TV began to crackle. "Baby, why do you keep this thing anyway, it's older than my grandma". Dan whispered into Nina's ear and she began to chuckle. "I know you'd do that, you find me hillarious". Nina began to bite her lip and look at Dan as if she were embarressed. "Love you, Danster". Oh I should explain, Danster was her pet-name for him, awww cute right. Dan kissed Nina on her cheek and began to grab his guitar and go to The Denton Music Industy Records Company.
Dan searched through his pocket. "Got change for a twenty?" The Driver nodded as Dan passed over a twenty dollar note and out of the change distributor dropped Eleven Dollars and Fifty Six Cents which Dan began to scoop up and place inside of his worn out, ripped Jean pockets. "Thanks, bro". Dan began to walk up on the bus until he heard a voice he was sure he had heard before. "Bro-Migo" it yelled out, he turned his head and lowered his shades a tiny bit to see Corey with his hand up in the air in the high five position. "Corey, you sick son of a gun!" Dan gave Corey the high five he had been waiting for. "So, where you off to?" Corey said in a smug voice as Dan placed his guitar under his seat and sat down. "My dead end job at the Record Company". Corey began to slap his face and patted Dan on the back, "Don't tell me you're still trying with that music crap?"
"Course I am, what else am I good at?" Dan chuckled as he said, after this the pale hands of Dan and Corey began to shake as Corey began to leave the bus. "My stop". A smile came across Dan's face. "Bye Ginger-General" Dan said to Corey. "Farewell Brown-Brigadeer" Corey replied, both making jokes about each others hair which started all the way back in Uni.
Part Two: The Swarm
Corey was about to put his foot out of the ground when the earth began to trembel. "What in the hell?" Corey looked out of the door and the earth began to trembel again, making Corey fall out of the bus and the ground began to split open, the last sound heard before the bus door closed was Corey's screams as he fell through the earth to his untimely death. "What the? Corey!!" Dan began to yell and bash the windows of the bus. There was four people left on the bus; Dan, The Driver and a young teenage couple who had been hiding behind their seats as the ground shook. "Hi?" The couple began to slip back into their seats. Dan stood up. "Listen, I am Daniel Joshua Harper and my plan is, we stay on the goddamn bus, and see what happens, ok?". The Driver looked up at him. "Are you mad?! Stay on the bus?! This is a death-trap because we are basically hanging on the edge as it is!". Dan grabbed the axe from the "Break Just In Case of Emergancy Thingy" and smashed the window. "You have two options, one, stay on the bus and hide under the seats until we know what happens!" The Driver stepped up to Dan. "Or two?" he asked. "Two, you go out of the window and.." Mid-speech and bird like creature flew into the bus and the Driver began to aproach. "No, you stupid..." Before Dan could finish his sentance the bird-thing attacked the Driver, scrathcing and clawing, the Driver grabbed the axe and began to swing but before the Driver could kill the creature, he fell and died from his injureis. "OFF THE BUS" Dan yelled as he jumped out the window and the young girl followed. "Tommy, jump!". Before the young blonde could jump the creature wrapped it's tallons around him and began to erupt through the bus roof. Tommy screamed. "Tommy!". The young girl began to cry until Dan pulled her in and rubbed her back
"I'm Dan and you are?
"Amanda" the blonde girl replied. "Pleasure to meet you, Amanda, now do you know where we can hide from thoose things?" The young girl thought and said. "There is an abandonned car nearby, we can hide there". The pair began running as more of the bird like creatures began to descend from the sky and chase them. "What are they?" Amanda asked as tears began to come from her eyes. "I don't know but where's the car?". Amanda began to point and they went inside and locked themselves in. Amanda began to cry so Dan puts his arm around her while all they could do is just watch as people were being taken away or killed by the creatures.
Part 3: Downfall
Their eyes were flicking between each other and the horrors outside. "Got a lighter?". Dan looked at her. "You're like fourteen!".
"Sixteen." Dan throwed her a lighter. "Pass me a cigarette, kid". They both began to smoke and turned up the car radio so they could forget about what's happening outside and both dell asleep. The next morning Dan woke up under the seat while Amanda was dead next to him. Dan closed her eyes "I'm sure you were a fighter, kid". Dan looked in the car mirror at the scrathes the creature caused him and began to start up the car. He threw Amanda's body out of the roof and drove towards his flat, the creatures in hot pursuit. He ran up to his flat and saw Nina in a t-shirt and ripped jean shorts with a towel around her hair. "Baby, where's the fireworks we bought for the fourth of July?". Nina removed the towel and her wet hair fell around her neck. "In the closet, why?". "Get them, now!" Nina rushed to went them as the creatures burst in. "Now!" Nina passed Dan the fireworks and he set them off, causing the apartment to burn. Coughing, Dan broke the window and began to slide down. "Nina, do the same, slide down the fire escape.". Nina slide down and ran into Dan's arms. "I'm so glad it's over, I've been hiding in the shower after locking the bathroom and closing the curtains so they wouldn't find me" Nina squessed Dan tighter and looked up at him. "Where are we gonna go now?" They both smiled and began to walk away from the burning wreckage as the creatures screams and squawks died down.
