The time keys

What came out of that portal was only something a madman would think of, and trust me, I sure as hell was no madman. When I saw it, it was a chromeish kind of black colour, long tendrils with claws on the ends, a long, slender body, so thin you could almost see its ribs, and long fangs that where made of some kind of bone looking material, but those eyes, those gaping, never ending black holes that could suck out your soul if you just slightly looked at them, where the worst part on that demonic being. Before I even saw it coming, it whipped one of its spiked tentacles at me, and seeming I was in shock, I couldn't move at all, so max tackled me to the ground, the tentacle just whizzing by my face, hitting max full on while falling to the ground, the impact bringing me back to reality, "MAX!!" I screamed, running over to him, " are you alright?!?!" I said, even though it was obvious that he wasn't," yea, I'm fine, just a scratch, hehe" he said in the most strained voice he could, tears pouring out of his one eye, the other one a bloody mess on an already scared face, and then he started to turn pale, and just like that, he stopped breathing, and was now a dead corpse inside the biggest crater in history. I saw the monster still standing there, staring not at me, but at the key on the ground, the creature looking as if that key was some sort of ancient artifact that was worth millions, and it stretches out one of its tentacles to grab it, and when it did it instantly went back into the portal, vanishing instantly through it. Afterwards, when everyone was calmed down, I started to head home, scarred from today's events, knowing that my best friend was dead, and would never be back again, and seeming the teleporter overrode itself when the portal opened, it exploded, so I had to walk for 5 excrutiating hours, crying the whole way home.
