We magnify the flaws in others that we secretly see in ourselves.

I sipped the hot chocolate quietly, my eyes darting back and forth between Allison and Edward. To be honest, I wasn't surprised to see Edward instead of Dylan. Edward was his roommate and he was doing a pretty good job at it too, always taking care of Dylan when he was sick or just being there for him at hard times. When Dylan and I used to Skype, Edward was always either at the back reading and sometimes he decided to talk with us. And during that time, we bonded. Always teasing Dylan or making fun of him.
Those were the moments which made me not to give up on Dylan. I hated the girl which I had become; it was as if a dark cloud was hanging over my head. There was a void in my heart which was impossible to mend, no amount of stitches nor could time make that broken heart of mine heal completely. And that's why, I needed to talk to Dylan and ask for answers for the questions that swarmed my head like bees.
Edward cleared his throat breaking the silence that surrounded us a few moments ago, "Not to sound rude but do you mind telling me, what are you both doing here?"
"Well, we were in town and decided to pay a little visit-..." I started off with the lie which was partially true but was cut off by Allison clamping her hand on my mouth.
"We're here to beat up Dylan with these bats." She said lifting up the wooden bat in her hand. My jaw dropped at her bluntness, noticing my glare she gave me a light shrug and stood up. She gave Edward a sickly sweet smile which was obviously fake, "Now, would you mind telling us where is he?"
Edward's eyes darted from left to right; the tapping of his foot on the hardwood floor could be heard clearly. "I-I don't know where Dyla-.."
Allison slapped her palm against the surface of the table, the sound echoing throughout the dorm room. "Liar. You tell me exactly where that douche bag is or I'll shove your balls up-.."
"Allison. Forget it, it's obvious that it was a bad idea to come here in the first place. It's clear that he doesn't want to see me," I gave Edward a fake smile and rubbed my tired eyes, "Tell Dylan, that I hope he lives a good, healthy life."
Edward involuntarily winced and looked at the floor, letting out a deep sigh. He looked at and his eyes, oh his eyes, it was as if something was haunting him. The pain was slowly eating him, day by day. Consuming him whole, causing nothing but despair and pain. His eyes were calling out to me, telling me to save him from what was killing him.
Cautiously, I advanced towards him with weary eyes, our gazes locked and then I knew something was wrong. Maybe it was my instinct or the feeling in my gut because what was about to come was certainly wasn't good.
"Edward, what's wrong?"
"He's going to kill me, if he knew I told you" he muttered to himself but I heard it anyway which didn't lessen the queasy feeling in my stomach. It was as if time stopped when Edward uttered those words from his mouth. "Cathryn, Dylan is suffering from Terminal cancer."

Well, that's the end. Hope you enjoyed it.
Well looks like the secret is out and it sucks cause its like I'm giving my child a disease which I hate, another reason why I plan on being an Oncologist and its like almost 5 in the morning and I'm writing cause I left ya'll on a cliffhanger for too long and I promised myself, I'd update on the last day and I FREAKING DID IT. I feel accomplished.
I love this Gif and the character, so why not?
