"Damn. You look hot mama! Kari shouted. Dakota and her other half were in Dakota's bedroom trying on clothes for her date with Tom. She was a nervous wreck and was seriously considering cancelling. She had never been on a real date before.
"Girl stop worrying. He's gonna love you and even if he doesn't who cares? You look great and your self worth will not be determined by a man." Kari said looking quite satisfied with herself.
Dakota stared at her reflection; She really did look good. The dress she was wearing hugged her body in all the right places. Her breasts were up and on display and there was a slit that exposed her left thigh. If she wasn't careful she might flash her cooch to the world. She started to worry she was showing too much, until Kari interrupted her thoughts.
" No you are not showing too much skin." Dakota turned to her friend and rolled her eyes. They had been friends for so long they could read each others thoughts.
"Okay, time for makeup."
*******
"Okay, I did that bitch." Dakota chuckled at her friend.
Dakota was always telling her she needed to start her own business but Kari insisted she wasn't ready.
"Girl you did such a great job. I love it!"
Dakota smoothed down her dress one more time and grabbed her bag. "Okay, I'm ready to go."
"Yay! I'm so excited for you. You have your location on right?" Dakota nodded, "Yes."
"Text me when you make it and if you need to make a quick getaway, I will be there. "
"Thanks girl. I love you. You just gonna hang here or you're going home?"
"I was gonna hang here so I can hear all the juicy details of your date with Mr. Hardy." Kari said while wiggling her eyebrows. Dakota just laughed and shook her head.
"Alright girl, I'm gone"

Dakota pulled up to the restaurant nervous. "Okay, you got this. He's just a man."
She quickly sent a text to Kari letting her know she arrived safe.
Upon entering the establishment she went to the hostess stand. The woman behind the counter was flipping through the reservation book with a bored expression.
"Hi, I'm not sure if my date has arrived, the reservation should be under Hardy, Tom. "
The hostess looked up with a smile from the book and immediately frowned when she saw Dakota. She looked Dakota up and down with disgust in her eyes.
"I think you have the wrong restaurant, I'm sure you aren't meeting with anyone here. All of our patrons are very wealthy and would not want to be mixed up with the likes of you. Now if you would be so kind as to leave so I can assist actual patrons, thank you."
Dakota could not believe what she was hearing. Never in her life had she been so disrespected. She was about to give this skinny bitch a piece of her mind but a voice stopped her.
"Just who the Hell do you think you are, talking to my date that way?"
Dakota turned around and saw Tom. He was dressed in a very classy black suit. His beard was perfectly styled and the way he was looking at the hostess, like he wanted to choke her, had Dakota slightly frightened and extremely...hot.
His eyes were narrowed in on the hostess and he was fuming.
The hostess couldn't put together a sentence, "I-I sir, I j-just thought-"
"You thought what?" Tom questioned as he moved in on her. "You thought you could disrespect my beautiful date and why? Because she's black?"
The hostess turned around looking for anyone to help, no one wanted any part of what was happening however. "I just assumed, sir w-we don't usually serve her kind here."
"HER KIND?" Tom yelled, while banging on the stand. Dakota and the hostess both jumped. "Get me the manager, now!"
She ran to get her supervisor, praying she wouldn't lose her job.
Tom turned to his date and instantly relaxed. She looked like an Angel and smelled intoxicating. The dress she was wearing showed her figure perfectly but a little too much skin for his liking. He would talk to her about that later he thought.
"You look wonderful Dakota." He said while wrapping his arms around her.
Dakota's heart fluttered.
"Thank you Tom," She smiled up at him, placing her hands gently on his chest. "You know we can leave. After the way I was treated I don't really feel like eating here anyway."
Tom looked down at her and rubbed circles on her back. "I can't let them get away with treating me this way. I don't tolerate disrespect."
Wait. Me? Dakota thought.
"Excuse me. My name is Harold, the manager, is there a problem here?" Dakota turned to see the manager red in the face. Perhaps he knows what's coming his way.
Tom pulled away from Dakota," Yes there is. My date and I were treated very poorly by your hostess. She told me this restaurant does not serve black people. It's absolutely disgusting. I will not tolerate such disrespect."
" Sir, I do apologize for the misunderstanding. Tiffany will be dealt with I assure you. And your meal will be on the house tonight, of course."
Tom made his way to Dakota and snaked his arm around her waist.
"That will be fine. Now hurry and show us to our table."
Harold quickly grabbed two menus and showed the couple to the best table in the house.
"Your waiter will be with you shortly." "Thank you," Dakota said smiling at the kind man.
Tom cleared his throat breaking the man's fixation on his date, or rather her breasts. He instantly straightened and walked off.
Dakota seemed to not notice.
"Hi I'm Jessie and I'll be your waiter this evening. Can I start you with a glass of wine?"
"No thanks. We'll both take a glass of water with lemon, and a sweet tea."
Dakota looked at Tom quizzically but didn't speak up. She knew sometimes men would order for their dates.
After the couple's food arrived, Dakota was completely relaxed.
"This pasta is delicious."
"I know. I'm a man with very good taste," Tom replied with a wink. Dakota took a gulp of water in an effort to cool down.
" So what exactly is it that you do for work?" She asked.
Tom leaned back into his chair. "I dabble in this and that. I own a couple businesses and have a couple things I do on the side."
"Wow. Very exciting." Dakota internally rolled her eyes. She hated when people gave vague answers.
" Tell me about you Dakota. I'm much more interested in you."
"Well, I'm 19. I plan on enrolling in college soon. I currently work at a boutique, but you knew that." She laughed.
"You're so beautiful." Dakota looked up at Tom and saw him smiling while staring at her. There was something in his eyes, something she couldn't quite figure out. It almost made her fearful...
