I ran, all I could do was run, all I've ever done was run. Run from my planned life, run from the law. The jultens in their gear beast chased me, so I ran from them. I had just escaped from their mechanical factory, more like a prison.
"Get back here Catherine! You can't escape fate!" One of them called from the vehicle.
"I can sure as hell try, you asshat!" I insulted back in kerodin, a language an old friend taught me, her name long since forgotten. But I could never forget her face when she smiled. Her image flashed in my head. Her amber hair and soft hazel eyes, the way her giggle hung in the air. My hair was black then, which had since been bleached platinum blonde, except for one streak. Suppose its just like the memories of her, all else but a smile and a laugh have disappeared. Then I remembered how she left me here, left for a luxurious life in diamond state. I never saw her again. I ran from that pain now, from the anger and hatred towards her.

I was approaching a tall structure, similar to the one surrounding ruby state, but taller. Then I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder, as a bullet went straight through. I staggered , crying out a bit, but kept running. Adrenaline pumped through my veins, numbing the pain. The blood began to stain my once pure white shirt, I covered the wound with my hand to stop the bleeding. Inefficiently, but it was something.

Then I saw someone, a girl. She was wearing a blue dress shirt and a black skirt with pink leggings, probably a school uniform. She had brownish hair, almost like...

No, she left me long ago. No chance of seeing her again. It can't be. I blocked the foolish hope from my thoughts, hope leads to broken dreams, broken dreams lead to pain, pain is a weakness.
The girl appeared to be waving me over, I ran faster and reached her.
"In there!" She pointed to a hole in the wall. I nodded and crawled through. A cool artificial morning breeze hit my face as I passed through. There was boy a bit shorter than me with orange hair and freckles and a girl with blonde hair who was shorter than him. The girl from before soon followed me in through the hole.
"Thank you." I said to her. She had soft features, a roundish face. Her eyes sparkled a little and she had a resting face of contentment. Her eyes widened when she saw my wound.
"You're bleeding!" She said as she began taking first aid items out of her bag. I stepped back.
"It's fine, I'll survive." I said.
"Just let her help." The red head suggested. I sighed and let the girl treat my wound. The antibacterial spray she used stung. The boy asked, "so, got a name?" I considered answering him for a moment,
"Catherine Anderson. Please though, I go by Caty now."
"I'm Elisabeth Lawrence, this is Tyler George and Abby Jackson. Welcome to diamond state." The hazel eyed girl said, cheerfully.
Diamond state. That's where she lives now. I can't let her find me.
"Diamond state?" I asked, sternly.
"Yeah, why?" Abby asked.
"I have to go back!" I said, trying to move the board.

"Wow, wow! No. What if that thing is still out there?" Elisabeth grabbed my shoulder, that hurt the bullet wound a lot, turning me around. I grabbed her wrist and twisted it, pinning her to the wall. She yelped from the sudden force and the pain.

"Don't try to keep me here, I don't belong here. You made a mistake letting me in." I hissed, Tyler and Abby were telling me to let go.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She cried. I let go of her, and stood there. i noticed she was staring at me, so I broke the short silence,
"So, where are you guys headed?" I asked.
"School. It's the day of 15." The one named Abby said. "Ah. Well goodbye." I said as I started to walk away.
"Wait!" Elisabeth called, "where will you go?"
"What's it to you?" I asked over my shoulder, noticing she began to follow me.
"I don't know, I'm just interested." She answered, kicking the grass a bit and blushing lightly, probably embarrassment. I squinted at her,
"Why?" I asked with an incredulous tone. She shrugged,
"I don't know why." I sighed,
"Fine, I don't know." She looked confused,
"What?" She asked, head tilting slightly in an innocent manner.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do, I was just going to wing it." I said, honestly.
"Oh. Well you could stay at my house." She suggested, causing me to bolt up from my usual slouching posture.
