October, 2121
NASA Shuttle Site
Something big sparked in my face.
"What the heck was that!" I yelled, more to myself than anyone else. Then I remembered, I was working on the new shuttle, Apollo 112, by the way, do not ask what happened to the other 111 shuttles. I am 17 years old, with a bum deal job and bad pay, but, as everyone else, I make a living... somehow.
"Eyy Ethan, I hear from the 'capn that you are going to train to be the captain of this shuttle, is that true?" It was Joey, the "bully" on the construction grounds.
"Yes, Joey, I have told everyone here a hundred times! So please just get off my case, ok?" I spat back. Joey smirked.
"Little ET standing up to the big boys, Eh?" John said to his friends. Then I heard the familiar crack of the loud speaker.
" Ethan Matthew Combe, please report to captain Joes office right now, thank you." Then the speaker went silent.
2 Hours later
"So, Ethan, would you like to be captain once this ship is finished in... oh, let's say, maybe 7 years?" I couldn't believe it, captain Joe was actually asking ME to be the captain of Apollo 112!
"Yes sir! It would be my honor to be the captain of this fine shuttle!"
And so from that day forth, Ethan was the new captain of Apollo 112.
