The man jumped up once he saw my mother. “Sarah? Can it be?” He asked.
“Holy cheese nits! You’re the Goblin King, Jareth!” I yelled jumping out from behind my mother. The man looked intrigued by my appearance, I guess because I look so much like him.
“Sarah, who is she and he?” He asked, she and he being Uncle Toby and me.
“The man is my brother Toby and the girl is my -our- daughter,” My mother told him. Jareth -or should I say dad?- walked over to me.
“I have a daughter? Well, I must say she looks a lot like me,” He said to my mom a bit cockily. She nodded in agreement. “What is your name?” My father asked.
“My name’s Emilia Echo Williams, pronounced e-mill-e-a!” I nearly shouted in response.
Jareth’s smirk grew. “We share a similar personality, do we not? You don’t act very much like your mother,” He told me.
I shrugged and replied, “I guess not. Oh, and by the way…This is so cool! My dad is the coolest guy ever! This is amazing!” I cleared my throat. “I’m done!” I smiled broadly.
Jareth smiled at all of us. “Well, you’re all welcome to stay here as long as you want,” He told us.
“Well actually Jareth, I was wondering if Emilia and I could live here with you,” My mother asked him.
“What about your sibling Toby?” Jareth asked.
“Oh, I’m just here to visit and see how you and the rest of the Labyrinth’s inhabitants are doing,” Uncle Toby said.
Jareth snapped his fingers and our bags disappeared. “Why don’t you two go unpack your belongings? I’ll have one of my goblins take you to your room. I would like to speak to my daughter alone,” Jareth told my mom and uncle. She nodded and grabbed Uncle Toby’s forearm. A little goblin with a butter knife and a pink hat came over and took my mom’s hand. They both walked out, leaving Jareth and me alone in the throne room. He turned towards me and walked back to his throne.
“Emilia, since you are my daughter, that makes you half fae. That also means you have similar powers to mine. I can conjure crystal balls. I have granted your mother the ability to conjure crystal cubes. You are able to conjure some type of crystal shape. Go ahead and try it,” Jareth said looking at me expectedly. I held my hand out and squeezed my eyes shut. I felt a slight weight in my hand and heard Jareth gasp slightly. I opened my eyes and looked.
“OMG! There is a crystal heart in my hand! That’s so cool!” I shouted.
“I’ve never seen a crystal heart before. Well then, why don’t you try to travel to your mother’s room?” Jareth said again with an expecting look. I lightly closed my eyes and thought of my mom. I thought super hard and just kept thinking, until a voice broke my thoughts.
“Emilia?” My mother’s voice echoed through my mind. I snapped my eyes open and looked around. I was in a lilac colored room that looked like a queen’s. My mother stood in the middle of it with a surprised look on her face.
“Well, hello momma! Jareth taught me how to use my fancy powers!” I said while maintaining a lopsided grin. My mom smiled and looked over my head. I turned around confused and saw Jareth standing there. A smirk sat upon his lips.
“You know dear, you could call me father, considering the circumstances,” He said walking over to us.
“Oh! Sorry, it’s just strange calling a person from a movie ‘dad’,” I sheepishly told him while rubbing my neck. My mom sent me a warning glance. What was that about? I glanced at Jar- dad and saw his flabbergasted face.
