Lucy's POV

It was strange. Well, strange and stupid, yet kind of funny and powerful at the same time.

I'd heard many things about this school, certain reasons that led me to believe I'd be leaving with piercings and a fake ID. Before, I'd gone to a private school, with all the rich, stuck-up debutantes you could find in that building. But I wanted to leave. I was different than them. I wanted to wear sneakers instead of heels, hoodies instead of blouses and jeans instead of ankle-length skirts.

But the funny part, right.

Fairy Tail High has many different buildings. I've spent the last half hour trying to find my first class in the main hall, squeezing through many other people who stand in the middle of the hall(why? I don't know).

It was loud, I couldn't hear myself think. I didn't know anyone and I was getting a bad sense of social anxiety. But the room went silent. You could hear a pin drop as soon as 4 sets of ripped Jordan's stepped into view. Four guys emerged, walking side by side in a perfect line, like a clique.

The one on the farthest left was the tallest. He had headphones wrapped around his neck and a hint of eyeliner on the lower waterline of his dark eyes. He held an expression that said "you couldn't make me laugh if you tried" with his hands relaxed inside his pockets. His hair was a messy jet black, ending at the base of his back.

The one on the farthest right looked more awkward than bored. He had a strange look. Messy, blue hair, a tattoo on the right side of his face, and a single black cross dangling from his neck. He rolled up the sleeves on his arm as he walked, and glanced down at his feet.

The two boys in the middle weren't like the other ones. They were yelling at each other, eyebrows furrowed and fists balled. One had pink hair, and the other had black hair, but both of their hair was messed up so it was sticking up in different directions. Pinkie had a scarf dangling from his neck, and Blackie walked on without realizing his absence of a shirt. Maybe that's why everyone looked.

But it wasn't. I studied their faces. These guys were popular, I'm sure. All of them were good looking and built. I bet that girls wanted to be with them and guys wanted to be them, just like I'd see in a movie.

And that's the reason I had for making a complete fool of myself in that main hallway. Before I could stop it, I bursted our laughing, so much, that I clutched my stomach and almost lost my balance.

Then I froze. Everyone stared at me. There were whispers of "who is that?" And "I've never seen her around before."

As I began to walk away, a hand grabbed my wrist and spun me around. It was Pinkie, giving me a dirty look. His band stood behind him, like a gang of street thugs. It made me want to laugh again.

"What's so funny?" He sneered.

I shook my head and avoided eye contact. I didn't want to be the focus on the first day- I wanted to be quiet, collected, smart. But now I was the girl that burst out laughing in the hall at these guys.

Then the guy with the headphones spoke up. "Obviously she was laughing at us, Natsu. She's new, I haven't seen her in this school. She doesn't know how things run here."

How things run? I questioned myself.

No-Shirt guy cocked his head. "So we'll just let her know. Newbie, we're not a joke here, we know everything, and everyone. If you laugh at us again, we'll ruin you."

I cringed. Ruin Me? What's that about?

Suddenly, a hand was on my shoulder. I turned around to a small girl with glasses, and a small purse over her left shoulder. She gave me a wink and then proceeded to talk to the guys.

"Hey! There you are!" She said, beaming at me. "I know this schools kinda weird, but remember what I told you? Imagine everyone you see here with crazy mustaches and you'll have a blast!"

Natsu threw a concerned look. "That's why...she laughed?"

Headphones guy smirked. "I think you're lying. Levy, do you know her name?"

Levy froze, and smiled. "You know, I'm terrible with names."

He shook his head. "How can someone score a 2250/24oo on the SAT's but not remember her name?"

I tapped my bag with my finger. There, was a small keychain of a doll I named Michelle, with a "For, Lucy" engraved on the tag. She finally got the hint, and nodded.

"Just messing with ya!" She said. "It's Lu-cy. You'd really think I'd forget? Come on Lu!"

She grabbed my hand and pulled me away. As I left, the guys held a confused stare, and continued walking down the hall talking about what just happened.

"Thanks Levy." I said.

She smiled. "No problem. These guys aren't kidding when they say they'll ruin your life. I don't know why they do this- it's kind of like a corrupt government the way they act."

I bit my lip in concern. I didn't want them to find out I was a debutante. I'd get all sorts of strange looks then. I wanted to just be some girl in the hall you didn't know, but hey, she looked cool enough.

"Anyway, you can sit with me and my friends at our table if you'd like!" Levy offered.

I nodded. "Thank you! I don't really know anyone else right now besides you and them."

Natsu's POV

Lucy....Luucyyy.

I wanted to know more about her. Not just who she was. But more like, her favorite food, what she does in her free time, the one movie she couldn't live without. Something in her sparked my interest, but it's not like I'd ever mention that to the guys.

"Hey, Jellal." Gray said, nudging him in the shoulder. "Don't be so quiet. Talking more can lead to a speedy recovery."

Jellal's cheeks turned red and threw his head to the side. "What recovery? I don't even remember. Just drop it."

Gray sighed and crossed his arms. "Damn, ever since the prez and you went separate ways you're always so bitter. Come to the party tomorrow. Live a little."

I nodded, chiming in with Gray. "Live a little."

He finally gave in to come tomorrow night at the beginning seniors party. It was going to be the best kickoff anyone'd ever seen. It was at Gajeel's household, but he rarely joined in. He didn't care about talking, drinking, and party music. He didn't care, period. I've known the guy for 7 years and I've seen nothing he'd pay actual attention to.

I want to ask Lucy to the party. I don't want to at the same time. Rather I want her to come on her own accord; and then I'd meet her there with two drinks in my hands and sway her to the beat of the music playing.

"Lucy." I mumbled under my breath again. "Lucyyyy."
