Kill the Target

Hello! Welcome back! I might make the next chapter a dual PoV chapter (Half Manato, Half certain Night Raid member *cough*). I might even be evil enough to put some fluff into the second chapter! ;o

Kill the Target!

"All right, we've got a new target to kill. Apparently he's a solo assassin, Leone talked to the client earlier today." Najenda told the members of Night Raid.

"Ok, the client said that he's an Empire Spy and Assassin. He's located in the forest east of the Graveyard. Easy work for us, good money too." Leone announced.

"Lubbock will go and set traps around the forest and Graveyard. Leone and Akame will go to fight him, Mine and Tatsumi will stay on the cliff north of the Graveyard, ready to fire. Sheele and I will stay at base. (The Mine and Sheele vs Seryu happened, but Mine shot Koro's core and Sheele killed Seryu. Just roll with it, I need a space in the Jaegers for an OC dammit).

Mine PoV

"Ugh, why did I have to get put with Tatsumi, he's the only one who can get on my nerves faster than Lubbock..."I muttered to myself.
"It's not like I wanted to get put with you either! Why couldn't I go, I dunno, scout the area or something?" Tatsumi yelled back.
"You couldn't scout out the area because you'd get killed because you're an idiot." I snickered at Tatsumi. He glared at me like his eyes were daggers. Wait. On front of his eyes, are daggers.
I let out a scream that old deaf men would be able to hear.

A pained sigh came from above us. "Pipe it, lovebirds." Said the figure cloaked in shadows. I could feel myself turning an unhealthy shade of red. "WE'RE NOT LOVEBIRDS, YOU JERK!" I yelled, aiming Pumpkin at the  origin of the voice. "I ain't here to hurt you two, you're such a cute couple I couldn't possible tear you apart." I could tell without even looking at him that he had a smirk on his face. I'm going to wipe it clean off.

"DIE!" I screamed, firing Pumpkin. His body disintegrated before the shot hit. I stared at the spot that I shot. "Maybe the heat was so intense he burned to ashes?" I guessed hopefully.

"Not quite. I'd appreciate if you would be so kind not to fire that at me again." The voice spoke again, this time from behind us. We saw the man in the light for the first time. He was almost as tall as Bulat was, and was very slim. His arms looked like twigs. I giggled at the lack of muscle on his arms. I instantly stopped laughing when I looked at his face. He appeared to be 18, give or take a year, but he looked as if he has lunch with Death every few days. His eyes were a deep shade of purple, he was pale and his hair was jet black and unruly. He flashed us a toothy grin before walking towards us, taking a seat near us.

"Mind if I ask why Night Raid wants me dead?" He asked. Wow. A great way to break the ice, ask why they want to kill you. This guy has no social intelligence. I turned my back to him and crossed my arms. " No. I don't think I will tell you." I said in an aloof manner. "Fine, what about you... Never mind." He said while looking at a sleeping Tatsumi.

"I'm Manato, it was nice to meet you!"
He said sarcastically.

Lubbock PoV

"All the traps have been set up!" I crafted a hammock for myself and settled down in it.

"Not going to rest so early into the night, are we?" Said the figure in the trees. " I ran into two of your friends on that cliff, not that they were useful in the slightest." He complained.

"What did you do to Tatsumi and Mine?" I growled threateningly. He snorted. "I left them, they refused to tell me why Night Raid wants to kill me, so I thought I'd try my luck elsewhere. Namely, you." He said.

"Well, uh, I'm not really sure why we want to kill you, I mean, the citizens just put in a request... Leone should know more about it." I said.

"I'm Manato, at least you helped more than your two friends." He said before melting into the shadows. My jaw dropped to the floor.

Akame PoV

"The target has not been located." I said.

"Yeah, he's kinda starting to bore me, HEY! TARGET, COME OUT PLEASE!" Leone yelled.

"That shall not work, it will only get us caught." I informed her. I heard footsteps behind us. "Your wish is my command." Said the voice from behind us mockingly.

I drew my sword and slashed at him, wanting to get this job done quickly. However, the boy was quick on his feet, he swiftly ducked under my blade, pulled out a dagger and caught the hilt of Murasame, effectively knocking it out of my grip. He sighed. "I was expecting that, you would do well not to be so predictable in the future." He said. " I'm not here to kill anyone, for I believe we have somewhat the same goals as one another. I would simply like to know why Night Raid is targeting me. For I do not recall doing anything that Night Raid don't do themselves." He spoke like he was tired of asking the same question over and over again.

" So, which one of you is Leone? A green haired guy told me to ask you about why you want to kill me." He said, eyes darting between the two of us .

Leone growled. "What have you done with Lubbock." She bared her fangs at the boy. " Same thing I done with your other two friends, ya know, the small lovebirds. I left them as they were." He replied.

Small lovebirds? I'm pretty confused. Leone squealed. "Are Mine and Tatsumi really a thing? I'm going to have so much fun teasing them about it!" Leone said excitedly. "As for why we want to kill you, a client paid us and asked us, they looked poor, but I could smell wine and gold on them."

" Let me guess, a guy, quite tall, blonde hair." The boy said. Leone looked surprised. " How did you know?" Leone asked. " His name is Shota. He's known me for a while, his father was killed fighting rebels, which my parents were part of, so he always had it in for me and my sister. He's part of the Rebellion Task Force. Although last I heard he was part of a new group, designed to counter you, known as the Jaegers. I'm Manato by the way." Manato said venomously.

Akame picked up Murasame and started to drag Manato across the ground. " Hey! What are you doing!" He protested. " You know too much about us." I replied coldly. He slid out of my grasp with a mischievous smile. He held onto me and Leone. "Why are we sinking?" Asked Leone.

"This, is shadow travel. Heh." Replied Manato.
