Everyone has their place in a school system. Everyone has a purpose, and each individual is member of a social group. Our school is like that, but within our groups we had queens and kings. Within our school their were several different groups or cliques if you prefer that term for them. For example there was Jananelle and Talia who were the queen of bitches and gossip. Then there was Quinn who was the king of football. Percival was king of the English geeks, and Lina was the queen of Geography. Adrianna was the queen of writing, and Ellen the queen of Otaku's. Then there was me; I was the equestrian queen.

My mom and dad had a decent amount of money and I had loved riding since I was eight, so on the day I graduated middle school they took me to the local equestrian auction and told me to pick one. In the end I chose a mare that would soon be foaling, and I couldn't wait. She was a beautiful silver dapple gypsy vanner that I renamed Guinevere. Before being bred she had been trained in hunter/jumper.

Over the summer I had been volunteering at the local equestrian center and had run into five others that would be attending the same high school as me next year. We began to bond over the heated months and all of them came over the day Gwen foaled. She was a gorgeous silver filly that I named Karishma, or Kari for short.

Melody was the first I befriended at the Equestrian center. I admired how gentle she was with the horses and how they all seemed to love her. Her eyes were a gorgeous emerald and her hair the shade of copper. She was leasing a bay thoroughbred named Fyre.

The second I met and befriended was the stablehand Viktor. He was the owner of the barns son. He owned a pure black arab stallion named Kahl. His hair was blonde and his eyes a silver blue. He didn't talk to much, but it wasn't because he was shy. He also enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He was constantly singing while sitting in front of Kahls stall.

Third to join the group was Axle. His family had moved from Germany two years before, and he owned a gorgeous black forest horse named Sigmund. His hair was jet black and his eyes green hazel. He was protective of his family especially his little sister, and his life practically revolved around his horse which was trained in dressage. He was stronger than the rest of us due to years of helping his family with the heavy lifting.

Fourth to make an arrival was Willow. She was the owner of an dapple gray Icelandic Horse named Freyja. Her hair was the color of wheat in a field right before harvesting and had natural blonde highlights. Her eyes were brown hazel. She was also the shortest in the group, and she also held the title of the most talkative.

The final member to join our group was an athletic girl named Noelle. Her family was the wealthiest of our group and owned about forty acres of land, and four horses. Two of them were thoroughbreds, and the other two had been together since foals, one was a gorgeous Fresian stallion that went by the name of Calamity, and a cremello gelding by the name of Luthien. Noelle's hair was platinum blonde and her eyes were blue. Despite her wealth she was actually not snobbish. She loved to help others, and she also had a soft spot for children.

It's hard to believe that we all got along decently, and after a while it came between Noelle and myself as to who was the winner. She was the one who told them to chose me as their leader. That actually made me really happy because it meant we could avoid drama. Our meetings were usually in the meadow beside the creek on Noelle's property. We'd laugh and joke around with each other while the horses grazed in a small enclosure her dad had put up for us.

Like all groups of friends we had our corrals and days where we didn't get along, but we worked through it. When school started we were click to catch on to the way it worked and formed alliances with a few of the other groups. The bitch and gossip clique despised us. They especially targeted me due to the fact that Jananelle and Talia had always hated my back. The first year had flown by in a breeze and before we knew it summer had hit us again, and then began tenth grade.
