"Mom please," thirteen year old Alexander cried over his mothers weak body.

"She can't hear you Alexander," said the nurse.

"Will she get better now that we brought her to the surface?"

"Doctor? What do you think?" The nurse said to the man looking down at some reports.

"I'm afraid Mrs. Marie won't make it," said the doctor.

"Jessie you have to be able to do something! You've known her longer than I have," Alexander yelled at the nurse.

"I'm sorry but...." she said getting cut off by the mother.

"It's okay Alex," said his mom as she lightly held his hand. "You'll be fine my dear son."

Alexander started to tear up as his mothers eyes went limp and her hand let go. "Judith!" he cried.

The nurse started to hug Alexander to comfort him. Suddenly everyone lifted their head to the sound of marching. It was a troop of Demtioners looking for wastelanders to capture for enslavement. Everyone ran to hide except Alexander. He stood up with tears running down both sides of his face that was filled with unbelievable rage. In one hand he had a makeshift pistol with three bullets.

He walked out of the building and the troop was on the destroyed street right in front of him. He marched toward the group in the rain as they stopped. He calmly, but angrily confronted them. Before the commander could say anything he grabbed the bottom part of his helmet that was part of the large metal suit. He tilted their leaders head back and drove a bullet through the bottom part of his chin and out the top of his head. He then turned and fired one shot through another guards visor and into his eye. One troop aimed his energy weapon toward Alexander and fired. Alexander moved just in time and rushed the guard grabbing his gun and using the last bullet. He then picked up the energy weapon off the ground and killed the final guard.

He killed all the soldiers and fell to his knees with an emotional face that expressed nothingness. As he sat there the people in the buildings came out cheering. Alexander stood up and said, "Everyone gather what you can for today is the start of a war!" He then walked past some people in crowd and saw the nurse. "What is that look for?"

"That was a strong and unexpected event, and those words were of a leaders," she said.

"I don't know Jessie. Maybe I'm just sick of the suffering of everyone because the government wanted more slaves and guinea pigs."

"Maybe, but please be careful. Your mother wouldn't want you to get hurt after all of this."

"Whatever pain will be better than what I felt in there," he said finishing the conversation and walking away.

The people grabbed the armor and weapons off the guards corpses and followed Alexander. They walked to a hidden metal door in a cave covered by brush. They walked in and were welcomed back to their home. The scavengers who gathered the materials added them to the armory and started telling the people about what happened.

Alexander took a place on an elevated platform above everyone else. The entire one hundred twenty-four population of the underground faction had their eyes on him. "People of this rat infested whole we call home! Today we start to prepare for war. War against the government that enslaves us! For too long we have had them take our freedoms, family, and our necessities. Everyone gather together in the main room and we will start our plans to ensure the victory."

Alexander left the platform. Elder Ayita, a women from one of the tribes north of their location, confronted him. "War is never the answer," she said before walking away. Alexander ignored what she had said and continued.

He walked up to a place in front of the people in the main room. Most of the population was there, but not all because some of the people didn't like the idea of war. A map of the land was laid out in front of Alexandre. He observed it for a minute.

He started to give orders, "I need some of our men to sneak out from all sides to find whatever they can..."
