Picard ran as fast as he could out of the library; however, he saw that the entrance had been barricaded and guard squads covering the exits. Picard started to panic. "What am I going to do?" Picard wondered. "I guess I have to try and sneak out," he said. He saw a tiny hole in the wall and wondered, "Can I fit through there without alerting any of the guards?" Picard tried to calm himself as much as he could before he had to make his daring escapade to the ship. Then he got down on the floor, took a few deep breaths, and started crawling toward the gap in the wall.
He crawled through the hole, hoping that none of the guards was looking at the hole at that very moment. No one was alerted. Picard held in his sigh of relief, as he knew he would be spotted. He crawled until he had reached a corner of the library, then hid for a few seconds, contemplating his plan. He eventually decided on what he thought would be the best course of action. Then, he gave up on silence and dove out of his hiding place.
Meanwhile, Geordi was hyperventilating. "Picard has not returned and it has been at least ten minutes!" "Relax, Geordi," Data responded in his monotonous voice. "I'm sure he's alright." Then he went back to memorizing the current book he was reading. Geordi tried to calm himself, but it didn't work. "What if he's DEAD?!" Geordi screamed after a few apprehensive minutes. "Commander Jean-Luc Picard is perfectly capable of protecting himself. I doubt he would appreciate you panicking over his safety. I think the best thing for you to do would be to stop worrying about Picard and get back to studying. After all, a man's life is worth less than a whole cities," Data replied in his cold voice. This response left Geordi speechless. "I-... But.-" was his stuttering response. Data took the opportunity to boss Geordi around "Get back to work. We need this information."
Picard was immediately spotted by a guard who instantly alerted the other guards. "Well, so much for not being spotted," Picard thought. He dropped to the ground and rolled. He then got into a crouch position and did his best to run away from the guards. They, however had already recovered from their shock that someone would actually try and escape and started chasing after Picard. Picard realized that he wouldn't survive while trying to run in a crouch position and immediately discarded the idea. "So much for that plan," he thought grimly. He stood up and started running at full speed. Of course, he figured out that wouldn't work due to his endurance levels, and slowed down. Picard looked over his shoulder and realized the horde of enemies was gaining on him. One of them grabbed his foot and he fell. Then another grabbed his arm. Another guard grabbed his torso then sat on his legs. Soon Picard was underneath a dogpile of enemy cannibals. He started panicking but managed to force the feeling down. Then the claustrophobia arose. He shoved that down too. All of a sudden, his adrenaline started pumping and he let out a defiant scream, and with a surprisingly tremendous burst of strength, tossed the scratching, biting, punching, and kicking humanoid monsters off of him. Then he let the adrenaline take over as he immediately stood up and ran toward the ship. He couldn't let his injuries take over of he'd never make it to the ship. He kept on running. "Have to make it to the ship," he thought, trying to encourage himself. However, the injuries and exhaustion was getting to him, creeping into his muscles and slowing him down. "Have....keep....going..." he groaned, his muscles screaming. "Gotta outrun the guards," he muttered to himself between wheezing breaths. He was then immediately tackled by one of the guards. Picard managed to fight him off, but only just barely. He had to make it to the ship soon or he would die, he knew that for a fact. By the time he reached the ship, his injuries, exhaustion, and lack of adrenaline made him almost immobile. He was taking baby steps as fast as he could to get to the ship, or more importantly, away from the humanoid monsters. When he reached the ship, he put on one last burst of speed, rushed into the ship, closed the door, and immediately collapsed from exhaustion and fell asleep.
When he awoke, he instantly went to work. He got as many bags as he could carry, ate a decent meal, and then worried about how he would get back to the library. He eventually thought up a plan of action, but worried if it would work of not. He decided to at least try. He took a thirty minute resting period then prepared to risk his life yet again for the information.

FantasyThis is a Star Trek story, involving the characters Data, Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, and Geordi La Forge. This will likely only be one chapter because this was previously written by me for another thing where I couldn't use chapter markings. Enjoy!
