Chapter 2 - Partner

Tick tick tick...

Gazing at the dark blue clock, hanging on the white wall of the doctor's office, Monica waited for the doctor, thinking it will help her recover from her 'illness'. She took out the business card from her pocket, looking at it, while whispering the doctor's name. Aaron Morris... Dr. Morris then uh... After a silent moment, man, in his late 20s, with white suit came to the office, sat on the seal brown leather sofa in front of our girl.

"Hello, doctor", as Monica stood up, she greeted him with a slight smile, scanning him from head to toe. Dark hair with hazel eyes and attractive thick eyebrows...hm, too handsome to be a doctor, i guess.

"Hello, Miss Monica White. I'm Doctor Aaron Morris. Nice to meet you", reaching his hands to Monica, doctor gave her the same slight smile. As they shook their hands, they sat down on the sofa, thinking about going straight to the business.

"I heard you are suffering from lack of sleep, headaches and ...", looking straight to Monica's eyes Aaron continued, "... panic from time to time..." *smirk* . "I think, you heard about my situation from Chloe, uh?", smirking, Monica gave a glance to a doctor.

Chloe is her 'friend'. They met when Monica was attending to a wedding, as representive from her company "VA Group". The marriage was arranged, because two company will benefit each other through their son's and daughter's marriage. This kind of marriage is common in high society. As a heiress of her fathers big company, she was invited to the wedding. Chloe was another rich guest. She was daughter of president of "Q-Electronics". But Chloe was different from those high society people. She was carefree and always done what she wanted. She did not wanted to be the heiress or involved in her fathers business. But with some reasons, she attended the wedding as a representive from her fathers company. Chloe met Monica, as she was standing in the huge balcony of the building, drinking glass of wine. Looking at the Monica, she saw slight different vibe from her. Monica seemed different from others, resembling a little of herself. Chloe approached her, starting a conversation, "...not interested in wedding?". Monica turns back to see the blonde beauty. Looking at her amber eyes, she saw the 'familiar' look.

"You mean, not interested in this society?", Monica smirked.

"I feel you, girl...", Chloe continued, " ...request of your father?"

"Yea... kinda. Responsibility of being rich dude's kid, you know?"

"True... but i usually don't go to this kind of weddings, but reason came up" *smirk*

"Rebellious child, uh? *smiles* and what could be the reason, if you can tell me?"

"Hahaha! Not really rebellious, but i'm not really interested in my fathers business. Reason is just the groom of this wedding is my ex."

"Really?", Monica understood the reason behind her arrival at her ex's wedding. Obviously it's not ruining the wedding. It's kind of obsession getting what you want. Chloe couldn't ruin the wedding because she knows her place.

As their conversation continued, they became 'friends' with same 'interest'. Monica never mentioned her mental illness, D.I.D, to Chloe. But having dark circles around her eyes, sometimes acting weird Monica gave suspicion to Chloe. To cover the truth, she mentioned some symptoms to Chloe, like headaches and sudden panic. Chloe's suspicion never gone away, but having some interest, she gave a business card to Monica. "Who is this?", looking at the business card, Monica asked her blonde new friend. " He's relative of mine. He's famous good doctor. I think he can help you with your 'headaches' and stuff...*smirks* "

Not fully trusting Chloe, she felt her suspicion. But, surprisingly, Monica still decided to go to that doctor. To her, Chloe was kind of 'familiar'. Not like close friend or anything. But some kind of familiarity, that made her think that the doctor, who Chloe mentioned, maybe can help her. Blondie will never mention about random doctor to her. Because of Chloe's sharp eyes, Monica realized that her new friend is not an ordinary rich dude's carefree daughter. So she might also go to that doctor.

Without telling her true illness, she will test the doctor with only telling him the common symptoms like 'headache and stuff'. But she never knew he will play a big role in her journey of her own memory.

"So when did it started? Having a lack of sleep?", Dr. Morris asked.

"...", carefully looking at the doctor, Monica answered, "...when i was sixteen years old?"

"How many hours do you sleep?"

"I don't know- i mean, 5 to 6 hours?", noticing her change of expression, Aaron asked, " You had dark circles since you were a child, right?"

"Yea... how did you know?"

"I'm a doctor, you see *smiles*"

"Oh... i see"

"I guess your dark circles is not from lack of sleep. 5-6 hours is not a little amount to sleep, also,from your answer i spotted that you don't really know how many hours you sleep. Not knowing exactly how many hours you slept means, sometimes you slept more than 6 hours. People usually tell the lowest hours they slept when they guess. Especially, when they say their first symptom as lack of sleep."

Looking carefully at Aaron's eyes, Monica noticed him catching on her cover of D.I.D. That was not pleasant, but she now know that there might be a slightest chance of her memory recovery with the help of this doctor.

A/N: LATE update, but trying to make this story BIG. To make this story more interesting, I'm reading and watching many stories, books, movies and writing  down many good ideas , then organizing those ideas and thinking too deeply to make the character feel more 'alive'. It takes a lot of time to create a chapter, but NEVER GONNA GIVE UP. I'm linking those chapters with the main point, reason and meaning, so every chapter's gonna be meaningful.
