"Rylan? Oh, there you are. Look, I have been thinking." Lola strides towards me. I have never liked Lola, always been suspicious of her..and i think the real her is starting to show. As her mentor, I try to give her my respect. In front of the public she is really nice and very sweet to her fans, thats how she gets so many votes each week; but when it comes to me, the other judges and contestants..well she can be quite mean! I'm dreading what she has to say to me now.
"Yes Lola, whats up?" I fake a smile.
"Celebrity week. When we get to choose a celebrity, I want JJ Hamblett. From Union J. Get in contact with him soon, celebrity week is in 4 weeks time." Lola demands. She is walking away as I call her back. "So you want to perform with Union J?" I ask.
"No. Rylan! Weren't you listening? I want to sing with JJ. Not George. Not Josh. Not Jaymi. OK, understand?" Lola says, fustrated.
"Ok calm down, what have I done wrong?" Rylan says calmly. "Anyway, remember the rules, in celebrity week, you have to perform with a solo artist or full band, its been like that for 3 years now"
"Rylan. I. Want. To. Sing. With. JJ. Hamblett. Do NOT let me down." Lola says, almost spelling it out to me now. I hate people like that. I'm not dumb- so don't act like I am!
"No. Not after you just spoke to me like that. You know I can't change the rules and even if I could, I wouldn't!" I explain to her.
"Oh my God Rylan. I thought you were meant to be fun.Obviously not. I suppose you have two personalities, one for the public to see and one for us to see- thats the mean one." she says scornfully. That comment made me..more angry than I have ever been! Hypocrite!
"Oh coming from you!" I insulted. She turned a deep shade of red. Don't get me wrong, I hate making people angry or upset but some people- like her- deserve it!
"You know what Lola? I'm here as your mentor for singing not to take your attitude. If you are going to be like that to me then go and find another mentor!" I rage. She looked so angry that I thought she was actually going to find a different mentor! Now that would be a first.
"Rylan. I am going to sing with JJ. Just JJ. You'll see." And she just walked off.
