Chapter 8: Who Are You?

Sakura's POV

"I'll go find some food, Ok?" Sasuke said, coming out of his tent. "K, I'll lay some traps." He silently nodded and sprinted off. It's been a week since Naruto has been captured. Every second that passes I can't imagine what they're doing to him. I feel like it my fault...oh who am I kidding! It's all my fault. I deserve all the guilt in the world. If anyone should deserve this, it should be me!

An hour passed and Sasuke still hasn't returned. I already layed down the booby traps so I took the time to get some water. I grabbed a kunai from my pouch and looked at it. My reflection glistened in the kunai. I glared at it and threw it at a tree, accidentally almost hitting Sasuke. He dropped the fish and held his hands up.

"I see your still thinking of Naruto." I chuckled nervously. "Hehe sorry...Did you bring the food?" He held up the fish. I smiled and clasped my hands together. "Alright let's make dinner."

I made a fire and placed the fish to cook. It grew dark and the fire crackled in the night. "We'll get Naruto back I promise." I stared at the fire trying not to make eye contact with him. "That's what I hope Sasuke. Also I wanna thank you again for tagging along with me."

He sighed. "It's the least I can do. After all it'll take a lot more to gain your trust again." I looked up at him. "You want to change?" He gave a wry smile. "Yeah kinda. I've already got done everything I needed to do. But even that won't end my hatred. So I thought about it, and in the end I realized the further I go the more hatred I'll feel. I want to revive my clan and that can't happen if I'm a murderer."

"Wow Sasuke. You really put thought into this." He shrugged. "I guess so. All thanks to that annoying blonde persistent thing I have as a friend. But don't tell Naruto I said that Ok?" We both laughed and I playfully punched him in the arm.

>>Timeskip: Next Day<<

"We're getting close!" I shouted back a Sasuke. A big Boulder appeared before us. "We made it. This is it. No going back." I looked back a Sasuke and he did the same. "For Naruto." He said. "For Naruto. " I repeated.

I closed my eyes and focused all the chakra I could to my hand. I won't let them hurt you anymore Naruto... I swear on my life. I flashed open my eyes and darted head on to the boulder, leaving a trail of wind behind me. Sasuke averted his eyes.

"CHHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!" A huge explosion silenced the forest almost blowing Sasuke away. After the dust cleared up I looked at Sasuke and he looked at me with hope in his eyes. Hope I've never seen before. A look in is eye so strong that I knew I couldn't let him down. Even after everything we've been through.

He gave me a small nod. I ran in and already came upon an explosion. "SAKURA!" I heard Sasuke call from outside. I wrapped my arm around my eyes allowing the dust to clear up.

I opened my eyes and saw him. "NARUTO!" I ran to him and embraced him in my arms. He was on his knees motionless. "I'm so glad I found you! I'm sorry about everything!" Sasuke soon came in. "Sakura!" I looked backed and ran to him. "We did it Sasuke! We saved him!"

"Sakura that isn't Naruto!" I softened. "What do you mean? Sasuke what's wrong?"

"The world shall know pain. Destruction is key. Betrayal. Eliminate all." I walked up to Naruto. "Naruto... Y-you've couldn't have...T-they broke you..." Tears filled my eyes. "Sakura we have to take him to the village soon!"

I started trembling and I balled my fists into a tight curl. "This isn't you...Wake up Naruto! This can't be you! It isn't you!" I pounded my fist against his chest, weeping. Sasuke placed a hand on my shoulder. "Back-up is coming." I smacked his hand away. His flinched. "We don't have time!" I grabbed Naruto hand and pulled him my way.

He involuntarily followed behind me, with an emotionless expression. I dragged him into the forest with me. Sasuke soon caught up to me. "Sakura we have to wait."

"No way I'm not doing that!" I walked back and forth looking for medical herbs. "What are you looking for?"

"Things to cure Naruto! I have to think! I can't sit here!" Sasuke sighed. "Have patience, Sakura."

"Look Sasuke I don't-"SAKURA!" I immediately shut my mouth. I haven't seen this side of him in a long time. "Thank you...Now if you would please listen, I would like to explain my plan." I perked up. "Plan? I'm listening..."
