Chapter 1.

I stood still, smelling the air for a slight hint of another being near.  My heart slowing beating at a steady pace, not raising alarm.  My eyes scanning the woodland, searching for a movement.  My weigh shifting from one foot to the other and I sneaked through the branches and dead leafs.

"Boo!" He appeared out of nowhere making my heart jump and animal instincts to kick in. "ouch.. there was no need for that!" Derek squealed as I pinned him to the floor.

"No pain. No game brother, now get up!" I half smirked at him as I jogged back to the house.  "I told you to never sneak up on me like that!" walking through the hall way into to the sitting room, shouting over my shoulder, "Derek? are you okay?" I watched as my brother's face dropped, his eyes turned from his normal blue to a bright red in a blink.

My senses heightened and my eyes glowed blue as I scanned around the empty house.  I sniffed the air and caught the scent.  It was rich sweet smell. It made me hungry.  It made the wolf inside roar.  The smell of blood slipped through the house as Derek and I followed the trail until we reached a pool of the red liquid.

"Something happened here and it wasn't wolf related" His eyes relaxed and softened, his fangs disappeared into a perfect straight line but a serious look still hovered over him.

"Should we call the pack?" I looked at him worriedly and painfully trying to stop the wolf inside take over.

He faintly nodded and took off at a light run towards the rocky mountain side that sat next to the town.  Derek had formed into a human like werewolf but as my genes were stronger on the wolf side so I formed into a full wolf form which many people called 'The Shewolf'.  In wolf form I was taller than Derek but he was alpha, I had to obey his every command.  While he had a strong growl like howl; mine was the typical wolf howl, nothing special.

In minutes our pack of Beta's and Omega's had appeared.  A confused look covered everyone's faces as my best friend wandered into the middle of all of us.  "I heard Anna's call.." he look into my eyes while trying to avoid Derek's glare.

"Hi Scott, it's good that you're here, we will need you as well" I sweetly smiled at him as I made my way to embrace him in a hug.

"Back onto topic" Derek continued glaring at me and Scott, "Me and Anna found blood up close to the house..  And it wasn't a werewolf."

"I know who the blood belongs to.." a young voice came from behind us, Issac slowly took a step forward so he was beside me. "My father was killed last night, by what I don't know."

Silence filled the forest as Isaac continued talking about his father's death, His soulful blue eyes watered which caused me to pull him into a heartfelt hug. "The doctors said he had a bite mark around his neck and his blood was drained dry" My eyes flickered from Isaac to Derek and I could see him doing the same.

"What animal would do that?" Erica pipped up.

"Who said it was an animal?" My Uncle Ian wandered up, being mysterious as always. "I'm just saying, what if it wasn't human or animal?"

"What are you suggesting?" Boyd laughed. "A zombie? a Vampire? cause I'm pretty sure they don't exist"

"You sure about that?" a voice appeared from behind us. "I'm pretty sure they do."

"Ah the lone wolf returns" Derek rolled his eyes at the irony in what Scott said towards Cora, my younger step-sister.

"Shut it, you're not even in this pack." she said harshly as her hatred towards Scott flamed.

"Neither are you." I said blankly back.

Her eyes moved from Scott to me, slowly they turned into a gold colour and her claws began to grow as she walked closer to me.  Derek stiffened as he knew that if she agitated me I would respond, meaning that it would show the colour of my eyes which we hadn't told anyone about.

"Come on! are you too scared to fight your little sister!" she snarled and growled as she circled me. "if you don't fight me I might find someone else to fight" She lightly smirked as her eyes lay on Isaac.

A growl escaped my lips as she got closer to him. "If you touch him i will rip you limb from limb" I threatened.

Cora slowly made her way in front of him before I knew it he was on the ground holding his stomach. Blood dripped of her claws as she smirked at me. Everyone in that pack growled but none went for her as Derek stayed back.

Cora moved closer to me, she was a few inch's smaller than me but she had a massive ego to fill the height difference.  Face to face she growled one last time before my mind went blank as I formed into a giant beast with razor sharp teeth that hung 2 inch's long, Paws the size of a normal humans hand and white fur covering my body.

I lowered my body so my nose was almost touching hers. "You don't scare me sister, you are too scared and weak to kill anyone" just as she said that my green eyes turned into a sky blue. "Oh sister.. tut tut tut, blue eyes I see" a nervous look flashed over her before she shrugged it off.

I turned my head as the packs mouths sat open, Derek slowly walked over putting a hand on my neck. "I think you need to leave, Cora"  With no emotion he walked away back into the forest with the pack following uncertainly behind.

I raised my head from Cora to find a surprised Scott standing not too far away. I looked deeper into his eyes and noticed a hint of disappointment before he turned and went in the opposite direction from the others.  I could feel the heat burn up my body as I watched him leave, I looked down again to Cora but she was gone.
