I can’t imagine the different circumstances that happen in my life. Other people said that I’ve got the best family in the world. I know that my parents somewhat "care" about me, and I also understand all the sacrifices they make. My parents are always telling me how good I am. I am one of the top in my class, I go home right away, I don't come home late, I study hard, and I've never gotten in trouble at school. But now, one question bothers me, “What happened to us? I don't know what the word family really means anymore. No, I know what it would say in the dictionary, but I mean the feeling.

That feeling that I'm sure is so important. So important but it's been snatched away from me by my parents who doesn't understand how much I actually need it. I hate having to say this, hate having to admit that I need it just as much as everyone else. The worst part is that it's slipping away from me, what I remember of it, summer days playing WITH my dad, garden with my mother and even something as small as saying goodnight to my mother before I go to bed. I don't know how to fix it, mainly because despite the blame I put on myself I can't really prove that this was my fault, and so how do you mend a crack that you can't see? I miss them, deep down, I do. But, the thing that cracks me, is that they don't even know.” I am running through outside our house full of tears and nowhere to go. “Booogshhh!” the last time that I knew, my parents are shouting and running near to me.

I am Kathleen SanGabriel comes from an ideal family. A perfect family, full of happiness and I can get what I want. That’s what I think before but now the Kathleen San Gabriel they know is full of sadness and full of problems. In my 18 years of existence, my parents give me a big party. I invited my friends and different people from an elite family. All of the people in the party envy me. All of the things that I have my friends don’t have.

I remember when I was a kid, my Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made dinner after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all dad did was reached for his biscuit, smile at my Mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don’t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my Mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I’ll never forget what he said: “Honey, I love burned biscuits.”Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, “Your Mom put in a hard day at work today and she’s real tired. And besides a little burned biscuit never hurt anyone!”

I remember when I’m still a child, “This is for you, Daddy.” My dad was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at me, stating, “Don’t you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? I looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, “Oh, Daddy, it’s not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They’re all for you, Daddy.” My dad was crushed. He put his arms around me and he hug me.

Happy Birthday sweetie!" said Camille while giving me a box. "Thanks Camille!" I said. "Open the box now! Faster Joyce! You'll be surprise! We swear!" said Mae and Aira in chorus. "Is it okay if open this later guise? I'm so excited about you gift but let's just eat first! Okay?". Then we eat our lunch and after that I open their gift and I am very happy about their surprise.
