All About Love

Is Love Real?

          It's a rainy Monday today and I just want to sleep all morning in my soft and cozy bed. But, today is not the perfect day for that because I have a lot to do and I have work to go to. I just hate Mondays. So I did my daily morning routine, then drove to work. As I got in the office, I sat down on my chair  and started to do my paperwork. Then Mark came near my desk and greeted me.

"Goodmorning Sunshine!" He said

"Why do you always call me that Mark, you know my name is Alexis!"

He smiled, "Yah, but you're the sunshine of my life"

"Stop your nonsense Mark! "

"That wasn't nonsense Alexis. I was just letting you know that I LOVE you."

" Stop fooling around Mark. There's no such thing as LOVE!"

" How'd you know that LOVE doesn't exist if you don't even no what it is!"  with that, he walked away and all of our officemates looked at me in confusion.

"Uhmmmm. That was nothing. We just had a little argument."

   After that small fight that Mark and I had, I couldn't stop thinking about what he said about me not knowing what LOVE was. I thought to myself,

" Of course I know what LOVE is. It is a..... uhmmm concept that..... .Who am I kidding he was right. I don't know what LOVE is."

I felt ashamed, knowing that I made Mark feel stupid so early in the morning. So I went to find him and apologize for what I said.

"Hey Mark I'm sorry for what I said earlier."

He replied, " I'm also sorry for assuming that you would also LOVE me somehow."

"No Mark that was nothing. I was really the one who made a mistake. How could you ever forgive me. "

"No Alexis I'm actually fine already."

"No I insist. Maybe we should eat lunch together."

"As FRIENDS ?"

"Actually I was thinking maybe it could be our first date."

" Your  sure you want to go out with me ?"

" Yes. So I'll meet you at lunch then. Okay?"

    "Okay." He smiled. Then, I went back   to my desk also smiling at him.

At lunch break,

   Sarah, my officemate, asked me: "Hey Alexis, wanna join us for lunch?"

    I almost said yes then I remembered that I had a date with Mark.

"No. I can't , I have a date with Mark . Sorry"

"Mark! As in the guy who's had a crush on you for a long time already?"

"Yes . That Mark."

"I'm so happy and excited for you! Well bye, we'll see you later!" She happily walked away with our other officemates to have their lunch.

    So I cleaned up my desk then headed towards Mark, happy to know that he was also walking towards me. Then we met each other then tried to decide of a café or restaurant to eat at. Then we ended up choosing to eat at my favourite café, Café de Amore, which suprisingly was also his favourite.

   After that date, we found out that we had a lot in common  ------------   for example, we both like swimming, we both live alone, we both hate, Michael, the son of our boss and we both also hate Mondays. That date was then followed by a lot more dates and the more dates we had, the more I realized that I was falling in LOVE with him.
      
      We dated for about 1 year and one day, while we were on another date he asked me to be his girlfriend then I happily and gladly said YES.

I was his girlfriend for approximately 4 to 5 years then one day something happened. He didn't come to work, and I tried to call him again and again but he didn't answer. After my job I quickly rushed to his apartment finding nobody there. So I just went back home, hoping and praying that he was alright. Then, when I already arrived at my house, I was surprised to see the photos of all of our dates hanging on the ceiling and balloons shaped like hearts floating around. Finally, when I entered my room he was there, kneeling down. Then he asked me

"Alexis, I know you've already realized that LOVE is real and true. So, will you be my SUNSHINE forever?"

Then I said, "YES !"

Tip # 1: Love has existed for a long time already so don't try to prove that it's not real because you'll just end up looking stupid.
