Goodbye (Marcus Butler fan fic)

Hello! This is my first fan fiction and I hope you like it :) It's a Marcus Butler fan fic and it is NOT true. An immediate smile grows on your face as you see that Marcus Butler has posted a new video on YouTube. You click the link and see that it's named Goodbye. You frown as the dreaded thought echoes in your head.

Is he leaving?

Is he going to stop making youtube videos?

You push the thought away, he would never do that. Being Marcus he's probably saying goodbye to his laptop or something silly.

These thoughts immediately disappear as Marcus's face appears on the screen. He says his usual hello but you can tell something is different. He isn't as excited as he usually is and his 'hello' was weak. He had on a small smile but it looked forced.

Your brow furrows as he begins to speak, "So for the last years I've shared almost everything with you guys." He looks down and pauses before beginning again, "I have some news, that I haven't ever shared on the Internet." He draws a breath and let's it out slowly as he looks up again but not directly at the camera, "I've been thinking lately, and as much as I love making videos for you guys, and sharing my thoughts to you. I've kept something a secret that I think you deserve to know now." He swallows and chews the inside of his cheek, "I've been diagnosed with cancer."

Your face immediately pales and you place a hand over your mouth.

"And a week ago I was told I only had several months to live."

Tears fill your eyes as you stare at the screen, "No," you whisper, "Not you Marcus. Please tell us you're joking." You say as tears threaten to spill. 

But as soon as he looks directly at the camera you can tell that this was no joke.

His eyes are filled with pain as he speaks again, "I just wanted to make this video to tell you that this will be my last video, and that they'll be no more Marcus soon." He gives a small smile and a chuckle, trying to lighten the mood, but as soon as those words leave his mouth the tears you were desperately trying to hold back spill, and fall down your cheeks freely.

"And I just want to say that I love you guys so, so much. And that making videos for you guys and hitting one million subscribers was the best thing that ever happened to me. Meeting all of you at Vidcon, making all my new friends. Alfie, Tyler, Jim, Tanya, Zoe, Joe." He trails off and looks back down, licking his lips, "I just want to say that you guys have been great, and I'll definitely miss you all."

You start to sob as you watch him run a hand through his already messy hair. "No Marcus." You say to the screen, "You can't leave. Not now." You whisper as he begins to thank and mention all the other youtubers and how amazing making videos has been, but you're barely listening.

Images of all the videos he's made run through your head. You remember how you were basically with him through his youtube life. Like you were there next to him when he was daily vlogging, like you were sitting across from him when he was doing a challenge with Alfie or Tyler. Like you were laughing as you filmed him making funny faces at the camera.

You sob as he looks right at the camera, "Thank you for sharing this journey with me and without you I would have never had made youtube videos." He smiles slightly.

"No." You say, even though you know he can't hear you, "Don't go. Don't leave. Please."

He smiles sadly, "Thank you for being here with me and I love you all so much. Goodbye." He says then the screen goes black.
