I looked up from the magazine I was currently obsessed with, to see a beautiful man sitting across the table from me.
"I hope you don't mind me sitting here. I saw your tattoos from over there," he pointed to a group of guys with tattoos of their own, "and I thought they were beatuiful and I just had to compliment you on them."
I looked down at my arms and hands which were covered in ink. I smiled a little when I remembered the stories behind them. "Thank you." I said glancing at the masterpieces lining his arms. "Your tattoos are quite beautiful also."
He glanced down at his hands, "My HOMESICK tattoo is my favourite." He showed me his knuckles.
I looked at my own fingers, "Mine too."
He looked surprised, "You have a HOMESICK tattoo?"
"Yea, I travel a lot. A drifter, I guess you could say. I'm a photographer, as you might have guessed." I said patting my camera that was sitting on the table. "I follow around bands for a living, and never really settle down. So my home is on the road." I surprised myself by telling a complete and total stranger my story.
"You're a photographer? Have you ever shot Pierce the Veil?" He asked.
The name sounded familiar. I racked my brain to see if I had shot them before. "I think I've heard of them before, I don't think I have ever photographed them. I usually shoot bands that are smaller, not as well known. To get their name out there, more publicity." I told him.
"Well, I heard they are a really good band, you should try and get a shoot in with them. My name is Mike by the way." He held out his hand across the table.
"Hannah." I said taking his hand and giving it a gentle shake.
"Well it was wonderful to meet you, but my friends are going to leave without me soon. Maybe our paths will cross sometime soon." He said as he got up.
"I'll be looking forward to it." I said with a smile.
As soon as he got up and walked away, I picked up my camera and pointed it in the direction he was walking. Just as I snapped a picture he looked back. I looked at the picture on my digital screen. With a nice filter it would be a wonderful picture.
Maybe I would never see this guy again, but I would always remember this day.
