Chapter 5

I got up with my head spinning. I reluctantly got out of bed

and went to look at myself in the bathroom mirror. I was a mess. I was never

going out on a school night again. After I took a well needed shower, I went to

my closet for my outfit. What to wear?

What to wear?

I pulled out a grey pair of shorts, a white, short sleeved

top with my name printed in black on the front and black heels. I pulled my

hair up into a loose ponytail after dressing, applied light makeup and headed

for my hummer.

Daisy’s and Petal’s vehicles weren’t here so I knew they

left already.

When I got to school, Mona stood outside talking to

Jennifer, a girl in our class.

“Hey Lilly. I heard about what happened in gym yesterday.”

Jen said as we made our way to our lockers.

I shrugged. “What can I say? He had it coming.”

“I can never understand you.” She said shaking her head.

“I can never understand me either.” All this time Mona was

quiet. I knew she was still worried about yesterday. The truth was, I was still

mad but she was my best friend. I told her everything but I couldn’t go too

long without talking to her.

When I reached my locker, I put my books in and kept those

for History and English. Jennifer left to go to her first period leaving me

with Mona. I didn’t look at her properly before, but she looked sick.

“Are you feeling ok?” I asked her. She looked up at me,

probably surprised I was even talking to her. I may be mad at her, but I was

still worried.

“I’m fine. Just the flu.” She said grabbing her books and

turning away from me. What now?!

I just sighed and made my way to Homeroom. I took a seat to

the back, away from Mona. She needed space, I was going to give it to her. Mr.

King walked in right after and I couldn’t help but glare at him. If he’d hurt I

swear to god…..

“…..Lilly Tanner.” I raised my hand and he scribbled

something down on the register. A teacher and a student? Wasn’t that illegal? I

wasn’t too much a fan of following rules myself, but I mean come on.

“….Mona Young.” I looked over at her but she was staring

blankly at her desk a stranger to what was going on around her. “Mona…?” this

time he walked to her desk, worry filling his eyes. Something was definitely wrong
