Niall's p.o.v
They had finally landed in Germany which was the first stop. The flight didn't take long, but Niall was glad it was over. There had been a weird tension in the group. Usually Louis was the one to cheer everyone up, but he had been strangely quiet. And Harry didn't say a word. He wondered if anything had happened between them? Harry acted a little weird yesterday too. He would have to talk to him later. Louis interrupted his thoughts by throwing an arm around his shoulders.
"How's my favourite Nialler?" Louis asked and smiled. Hmm, maybe Louis was fine after all. Niall might just be over analysing everything.
"Starving, but excited! Can't wait to meet our German fans!" He answered happily.
Louis chuckled. "Well of course you are, you're always hungry. And yeah, I'm excited too! I've never been to Germany before, have you?"
"Yeah, actually once with dad and Greg. But I was like 6 or something. Barely remembers anything."
They got their luggage and left for the hotel, only to make a stop for eating since they were all hungry.
On the restaurant Niall got placed next to Zayn. For some reason that distracted him a bit. It was like he couldn't really concentrate on eating, which was usually not a problem for Niall. All he could think about was how close Zayn sat to him, and it kind of made him a little uncomfortable. It didn't really make any sense, he had been closer to Zayn than this many times before. Seriously what was wrong with him?
Niall had always admired Zayn. Admired his beauty, his voice, his maturity, his calmness, how he was so mysterious and sometimes a little distant, but still so attentive and caring. Okay that was quite many things, but honestly, who wouldn't admire Zayn? This tension though, he had never felt before. Zayn didn't seem to feel it, he was eating, talking and laughing like usual. Actually he was talking a lot more than usual. Maybe because Harry and Louis, who are usually pretty loud, weren't talking?
Harry's point of view
Harry felt numb. Like he didn't have any feelings. But at the same time he felt so much he though he was going to explode. Louis hadn't said a word to him all day. Harry had been worried about an eventual fight between the two of them. He had prepared himself for an awkward discussion about what happened. But this, this was almost worse. Being completely ignored, like it never happened. Like he didn't even exist. He saw Zayn sending a worried glance his way. He couldn't really blame him, Harry had been very quiet and unusually distant today. Liam didn't seem to sense that something was wrong, and Niall just looked down at his plate. That was weird. Why didn't he eat, Niall always eats? Maybe he wasn't feeling well.
When they were all finished they went to their hotel. To Harry's dismay, he and Louis were sharing room. Perfect, this would not be awkward at all... Maybe it was good though, perhaps he would get a chance to talk things out with Louis?
But Louis seemed to have other plans, he simply said goodnight and went straight to bed without giving Harry a chance to utter a word. He couldn't understand why Louis acted like this. Sure they had done some perhaps a little inappropriate things, but why couldn't they just talk about it, forget it and go back to normal?
---
The following day the boys were rehearsing at the arena. Harry felt a little nervous, in about 7 hours this arena would be filled with people, all there to watch them. What if the german fans acted differently from the British? Okay that was probably just stupid, of course there wasn't any difference. Hopefully they would be as supporting as the British fans. But he was still nervous. And the fact that Louis and him still didn't speak to each other didn't exactly make it better. The other boys had definitely sensed the tension between them by now. Harry didn't understand how Louis could act so normal, like he wasn't affected at all. The thing is, Louis did speak to him a little bit, but only things as "Can you pass me the water Harry" or "Your mic isn't on", which only made the whole situation even weirder. It was like Louis was trying to ignore that there was something wrong, but at the same time he didn't act like usual either. He didn't tell Harry any of his jokes, didn't hug him, didn't play with his hair. In fact he seemed to avoid all physical contact with him. And it hurt so fucking much.
After rehearsing they went to rest in the tour bus that had been driven over. It was there they would spend most of their time from now on. When Louis had ignored Harry for another hour Harry got enough, tried to gain some courage and went over to where Louis sat, playing some game on his phone.
"Would you like to go for a walk with me?" Harry asked.
"Sorry, I'm not really feeling for it." came Louis' reply.
"Louis, please." Harry pleaded.
Louis looked Harry in the eyes for the first time that day. "Uhm, I guess I could come for a quick walk..."
Louis and Harry went outside and started to walk. Louis looked anywhere but on Harry and his eyes was nervously flicking around.
"Lou, we need to talk." Harry was a little hesitant to use the nick name and saw that Louis tensed a little when he said it. He didn't answer.
Harry sighted. Guess he would have to do the talking. "Look, I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable, you know, the other night. I didn't mean to, honestly I don't even know what happened. I didn't mean for it to... I don't know, can we like, just forget it? I don't want it to be like this between us. I miss you." He almost wispered the last words.
Louis looked a little relieved. He swallowed and said "Yeah, I'm sorry. I don't want it to be like this either. I... I freaked out a little, and I didn't want you to like, get the impression that I was like, interested or something. Because I'm not. I have El you know?"
"Yeah, of course."
"And I mean, you're not, like, interested in me neither, right?"
Harry looked away. "No, of course not." was what he said. What he thought was something different.
"Good. Ehm, I guess we're fine then?" Louis asked.
"Yeah."
"Friends?"
Harry smiled. "Friends."
