JAKES P.O.V.I dreamt of him again. Everytime I wake up I have this empty feeling inside. A feeling of longing, and wanting, but never having.
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the dreams, they're just very confusing and leave me lonelier, and more confused than ever.
I groan and turn on my left side, staring at the wall, warm and cosy under a big pile of blankets. I sigh deeply.
If only I could turn and stare into his beautiful eyes instead.
His eyes were blue. Not the ordinary sky blue, or the colour of the paint flaking off of the old shed in the back of a field, or even the little flowers that spring up by the side of the road. His eyes were blue like the sea, crystal clear blue- shimmering and crashing and churning. Looking into his eyes you could hear the waves falling against the shore, see the foam flying into the air. His eyes were blue like the sky right before the sun disappears- dark rich indigo, with specks of wild colours here and there. His eyes were blue like that warm wool sweater that you put on when the air gets that chill- comfortable, warm, familiar. His eyes were that kind of blue.
I hug my blankets tightly at the thought of him.
Oh, those eyes. I remember staring into them when he's not paying attention.
And if he notices i quickly look away, or make a weird face, just to make him laugh. And when he does, I melt completely.
I can feel my body slowly drifting into sleep again, I hope the dream will continue itself, what part was I at again? Oh yeah, we were about to-
The door flings open, followed by the noise Godzilla makes, just a pinch more humanlike.
"God damnit Jake did you forget Nick was coming over today? He's waiting for you! Come on, get out!"
"Huh? mom? I , uh?" i stutter out. I take a look at my phone. 1 unread message by Nick.
"Hey man, I'm on my way, I'll be there at 10." Dangit, it's 10:15 now.
"Well, your dad and I need to go, and we're taking your sister with us too. Nick's waiting downstairs."
"God you're just like your father." she nags as she gazes at my confused bedhead, and barges out of the door.
I can hear her rambling on to herself as she descends the stairs. Just some seconds later i can hear the car start and drive off our driveway.
I get out of bed. grab my skinny jeans and a T-shirt and head towards the bathroom to get dressed and do something about my exploded hair.
I set one foot out of my room when I bump into Nick.
"Oh hey Ja-" He stops speaking abruptly when he sees i'm only wearing boxers. He quickly glances down at my muscled chest and looks away, he turns red like a tomato.
"Oh Jesus Nick!" I say when I jump back into my room and close the door. "Code red! Not dressed yet, man!"
"Sorry dude! Didn't mean to." I hear from the other side of the wooden door. I can hear him breathing, and sense a smile.
"Well, I'll be downstairs then." he yells and I hear him turning around.
"Grab a sandwich if you're hungry, I'll be down in 10!" I yell back.
"Oh, and don't do too much about your hair. it's cute that way!" He laughs, and i can hear him going down the stairs.
"Very funny man! Veeeery funny!" I laugh hard.
I kind of have a love-hate relationship with those jokes Nick makes. It makes me desire him more, but deeply down I know he's just joking, and that hurts.
With a loud sigh I open the door, check if the coast's clear of pretty azure eyed boys and head towards the bathroom.
