I have to admit, I never expected this to happen. I never even expected to see my life in this situation period. I laugh a little as I stare into her eyes and think this.
"What?" she questions me.
"Oh nothing." I say in the same teasing way I always do when she questions me about some cryptic thing I do.
"No, tell me, you meanie!"
"Nope!"
"C'mon... Please!" She gives me these pleading eyes and she has me.
"Okay fine... it's just that, never in my wildest dreams, did I ever expect that it would be you who I'd end up cuddling with, giving a back massage, staring at. I never even gave it the slimmest possibility that I would end up staying up all night with that shy girl, Leigha. Who has been in my class since fourth grade. The girl I never even looked twice at."
She laughs a little. "Yeah, it is kinda weird isn't it. I was always so shy, and we never talked. Now look at us. Jordan and Leigha."
"When do you think we'll be able to actually say yes, we are together?..." I ask. It's something that's always on my mind.
"I don't know. Whenever we feel it's right, I suppose." She replies, snuggling close to me as she closes her eyes.
"It's getting harder and harder to say no..."
She's quiet at first. Then, "Yeah, it is."
I wonder when the time will come.
