"Hello everyone,"
" I would like to invite you to a winter getaway!" Jack shouts, into a cheer.
On the bus, going to the Daintelle's snowy lodge on the top of their very own mountain, I watch the video sent from Jack inviting us to the lodge. He expresses how much it means to him and how much he loves having us there.
"It means so much to me to have you all coming for this event, and I want to let you know that I am super excited to see you all there."
As I get off the bus, I look up and see a sign above me, reading, "CREEWOOD PINES". I walk to the cable car and am greeted by a chipmunk. I crouch down and feed it a nut. I walk along and find a sign that explains the different colors on butterflies in totems, and what they mean.
BLACK - DEATH
WHITE - FORTUNE
YELLOW - GUIDANCE
RED - DANGER
BROWN - LOSS
According to some legend, there is something that roams this mountain, but we've never been confronted by it or have seen it so it really doesn't bother us.
I make it to the cable car and I see Mark, his black hair riddled with snow, comes and says, "Hey, Sam!"
"Hey Mark what're you doing?"
" Waiting for the cable car, same as you." Mark replies.
"And it looks like our ticket to the top of this mountain has just arrived."
" Well let's go before it leaves without us."
I flash a smile at Mark and we make our way onto the cable car. He begins talking about some game he was playing before he got here. It was like, " Until Dawn " or something. He went on and on about Wendigos and how if you hold still, they can't see you. And fire burns their armor-like skin off.
" When are we going to be challenged by a Wendiwoo?"
" First of all, Sam, it's a Wendigo, and second, you never know. What about that creature with the spirit that haunts the mountain? What if it's the spirit of the Wendigo? What if 9 hours from now, you're standing in the lodge, hiding at every opportunity you get, because you know if you run you will kill your friends? The main characters name is Sam. And yours is too. "
