-Your POV-

This obviously isn't going anywhere. Harry and you have been exclusive for a little over two years now and he still hasn't said anything about taking the next step. You've tried bringing it up to him. You would always make comments about finally moving in together, or starting a family, or becoming engaged. He would never share his thoughts on the topic, just brushing it off and changing the subject. Ever since you were little, you wanted to one day have a family of your own. A husband, a few kids, a home to share. You just don't see that happening with Harry. You love him, with all your heart. He's absolutely perfect. You would want nothing more than to spend the rest of your life with him, but you're not sure if he feels the same. You've waited for a while now, unsure of where this was going, but you think it's clear. He doesn't see "forever" with you. You're just here in the meantime, until someone else comes along. You can't waste anymore of your life on a relationship that won't move forward. Tonight at dinner, You have to end things with Harry.

-Dinner-

"You look amazing, love." Harry complimented you as you stepped out of his car.
He wrapped his arm around your shoulder as you both made your way to the entrance of the Italian restaurant.
You began to feel sick, unsure if you'd be able to go through with the plan you had made earlier.
'Maybe I should just wait a little while longer?' 'No, you've waited long enough. He doesn't want to be anything more with you.' You mentally argued with yourself about what to do with Harry.
You and Harry sat down at a table for two at the back corner of the restaurant, Harry's choice.
You couldn't even look at him. This was the hardest decision you ever had to make in your life. And now you had to face the boy you loved and say goodbye.
"You alright?" Harry questioned. "You seem..distant."
"Oh, um yeah. I'm fine." You gave him a small smile, that slowly turned into a frown. You had to do it before you backed out. "Well, actually, uh- no. I'm not alright." Your eyes began to fill with tears. "Harry, I can't do this anymore. We just aren't meant to be."
The look on Harry's face broke your heart. "Wha- but why (Y/N)?"
You couldn't tell him it was because he didn't want to move forward with you. The last thing you would want to do is guilt someone into marrying you.
"Please, whatever it is, I can fix it. I'll change it for you." Harry went on.
"It's nothing you can fix, it's just how I feel." You desperately searched your brain for an excuse to give him. "I just don't feel anything between us anymore. What we had, it's gone." At this point, you couldn't even look at him. None of what you were saying was at all true. You were just as in love with him as you were the day you two met. "You'll find another girl soon. And you'll love her just as much as you loved me, probably even more. And you'll see a future with her." With that, you stood up and walked out of the restaurant. Not even turning back to glance at the curly haired boy who was now quietly sobbing.
As soon as the cold winter air hit your face, the tears began to fall. You tried to steady your breathing as you quickly fled from the restaurant parking lot, making your way back to your flat.

-Harry's POV-

"And you'll see a future with her." (Y/N)'s last words kept repeating in my mind. I was still sitting at the table, trying to register what had just happened. I thought everything was going great between us. I thought the love we shared was still there. "Shit." I mumbled as I unsuccessfully tried to stop the tears that were falling. I saw a future with (Y/N). She was the only one I saw a future with. I reached my hand in my pocket and pulled out the small black box I had been hiding. I carefully opened it, observing the diamond ring that I had planned on proposing to her with after dinner.
