Helpless

Just a year ago I would have never, ever put chase and sophie in a car with Jason Saul, but in this case it’s safer. I open his door and bend down to talk to him. His deep green eyes are just like moms. That why I have to do this, For mom.

“Chase listen to me…..I love you very much and I want you to go with Jas, can you do that for me….I’ll come back and get you in a day or two.” I told him. He gives me a hug and whispers an “ok” in my ear. I took my key necklace off and gave it to him.

“this goes to moms box. It has all the money that you will need.” I kiss chase on his tear stained and give him a hug. I hate to have to leave him with someone else. Ever since we left it’s been just the three of us, and I wanted it to stay that way until now. I don’t know how Greg found us but he did. I’m tried of living in fear of saying to much that people would ask questions. Or working two jobs just to make rent. Plus going to school online, its an handful. I want to have a normal life. Maybe I was meant to have the life of a thirty year old when I’m only seventeen.

After this we wont have to live in fear. Chase, sophie and I can go live with grandma. She lived with us until we moved in with Greg and she went to a retirement home. But first I have to finish what he started. He put this on himself. He’s the one that took mom away from us. He made us suffer and now he’s going to. He’s nightmare just came alive, and its heading his way.

i look at sophie who is asleep in her car seat. i decided not to bother her. i closed the car door and turn to jas.

''get them as far away from here as possible.'' i whispered ''and be safe.'' i give him a hug and a kiss and turn around to start walking to my car.

''you be safe too and please... dont do something stupid'' he said. i look in his direction and smile

''now why would you ask that?'' i questioned with a laugh

''because i know you'' he answered but he wasn't laughing.

''Ok i wont.'' i said. i give him one last hug and start walking. I get into my car and make my way down forth street, to go home.
