Eren

"Eren!" I heard a muffled voice scream after me. I couldn't see and I could barely hear. What's going on? Where am I? Attempting to make sense of my situation, I pressed my hands to ground and pushed my body up with the little about of strength I had left and winced. Pain shot through my stomach like a bolt of lightening and I let out a strained yelp. My vision slowly began to come into focus and... Jesus Christ, I would rather had stayed blind for the rest of my life. The slaughtered bodies of all my comrades were piled on top of each other like a collection of rag dolls; many were missing limbs, some where even ripped in two... But all had that same look of terror in their eyes. Their eyes show that the last thing they saw will haunt them forever in the afterlife, that they believe that their lives were lost in vain. Their eyes show fear, sorrow... Regret.

Eventually, my tear-glazed eyes fell to my own body and what I saw made me wonder why my fate was different to theirs. A deep wound that stretched from my left shoulder and across my chest was clearly visible through my torn open shirt. Blood poured from the wound and I was convinced I could see the bone in my shoulder. Another deep gash caused the pain to be twice as bad. It was almost like something had stabbed through my stomach but someone had tried to remove it.

"Eren!" I hear the voice yell again. So it wasn't just in my head? The voice sounded make and very familiar. "Snap out of it, you stupid brat, you'll die if you just lay there!"

But I can't move, it's hopeless. Please just go, leave me to die. I want to die with the rest of them. Like a soldier... But I didn't. He didn't leave me to die; instead I hear him run up to me before roughly picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. My sight fell upon his back: a shield encrusted with two wings was marked proudly on the dark green cape that flowed her picky as he moved. This marked his significant place in humanity. These were the wings of freedom. Our hope that we will save humanity from the clutches of those wretched Titans that want nothing more than to kill us all. Although, it's beginning to look like we don't have much hope left anymore.

Using 3DMG gear, the man jumped up into a tree, pulling me off of his shoulder and sitting me on the branch, against the trunk. I winced again in pain and looked up at him.

"What? Did you fall on your head and get concussion or something?" He almost snarled as he narrows his eyes more. Of course. Captain Levi.

"We need to get you back to HQ before you bleed to death." He spoke bluntly, reaching to pick me up again. I hit his hand away, much to his disgust.

"What about the others? We can't just leave them here!" I protested, using all my strength to push my back off of the tree.

"You expect us to carry a bunch of corpses with us?" He frowns, speaking a sarcastic sentence but in the same emotionless voice he had always spoken in. My eyes had widened slightly and I felt a lump rise in my throat. What the hell was that supposed to mean? "We're the only survivors, Eren."

"W-What?" I stuttered, unable to process everything. I could see that many soldiers were killed but... Everyone? The whole Scouting Legion? That's... That's impossible! "This can't be true, there must be someone! Commander Erwin?! Miss Hange?! Armin and Mikasa!" I found myself almost pleading for something I knew that not even Captain Levi could make happen. Everything was confirmed then with one nod of his head. But his eyes... His eyes didn't hold that fear and sorrow that everyone else's held; that I knew mine help the same. Instead his expression remained blank and his narrowed, steel grey eyes remained empty. Nothing. He must be either brave or a cruel and heartless bastard. Maybe even both.

Suddenly, cracking and thumping was heard in the distance and, as if things couldn't get any worse, a hideous Titan ran towards us. It's movements much resembles a drunk person as it stumbles a few times before leaping into a tree only a few meters away from us.
