(A/N: Hiya! Maggie-chan here~! Here's a sad fanfic for you all, just because 'a' for angst right?! Anyway mostly these ships are going to be hetero and Nyotalia because I suck at boy x boy one shots but ships like SpaMano and SuFin I can do without putting in a Fem because they're simple enough for me I guess. I suck at writing a german accent, so I'm not going to try to change Prussia's dialogue because it'll sound really weird. This is also a two-shot/two part story.

"You're-a leaving again? Where-a are you-a going this-a time, tomato bastard?"
Spain glances at me and I immediately gulp, trying to hide the worry in my squeaky voice. He smiles warmly and replies, "Don't worry, Romano. I'll be back before you know it. It's just a little voyage."
"H-How-a long will-a you b-be gone? N-Not-a that I-a c-care or anything!"
"Not long, Romano. You've been growing up so much, you can take care of yourself until Boss Spain comes back."
"O-Of course...b-baka."
Spain bends down, getting real close to me, which made me very uncomfortable. His green eyes pierce into my hazel eyes with seriousness. "Hey, Romano? I'll come back. I promise."
"W-Whatever-a, bastardo..." I shift nervously, attempting to avoid any eye contact with him but instead daring to look him in the eye. "D-do you-a mean it?"
"I do."
"Fine. I'll be-a waiting."
"So Romano is worried about me! That makes me so happy~! Then it that case, Boss Spain is really coming back!!"
"H-Hey! I-a n-never said I-a was worried...about-a y-you..."
Loud pounding on the door makes a shiver run up my back as Spain grins, tousling my brown hair and messing it all up like he usually did. I frown, but on the inside I didn't really mind. He walks over to the door with his suitcase, the one he always uses when he goes on voyages. I was young, but I knew it what was going on. Tomato bastard was a pirate.
And with the life of a pirate, also came the risk of death.
~Months Later~
Ding, dong.
Before I could stop, I find myself rushing towards the door, tripping over my own feet. Has that tomato bastard come back?
I think back, remembering Spain's brown curls. The way he always fluttered his eyes closed whenever he would flash his warm, glowing smile...
