"What the hell?" I winced at the too-strong scent of rubbing alcohol; hospital smell.

"Brooke?"

My eyes and brain tried to meet the sound that came from someone I had not yet seen.

"Brooke?" another voice asked more desperately then continued with, "Someone get a nurse."

The light faded until my vision seemed normal except for the new but lingering pain in my eyes.

"Brooke?" a blond headed someone asked softly.

"Brooke?" I asked in confusion.

"Yeah, Brooke. You're Brooke, I'm Niall, this is El," the boy said frantically then continued in a shout, "El, get in here! Nurse!" but nobody came in on his command and my confusion stayed.

"You really don't who I am anymore, do you?" he asked, his new found worry almost tangible.

Anymore? I know him? I moved my right eyebrow up in wonder causing shooting pain to run through my entire body.

"I guess you could say I'm oblivious."
