~*Max's POV*~
I walked into the room and the first thing I noticed was how tired Sophie looked. She looked so small and frail in the hospital bed. She had tubes hooked up to so many places in her arm. She still had a smile on her face though. That's the thing with Sophie, she always has a smile on her face, no matter what's happening.
"Hey Soph. How are you feeling?" I asked, even though I already knew the answer.
"Honestly, a little tired and worn out. I'm not really feeling to great. But I am super happy to see you." She said. Man, she sounded as awful as she looked. When she spoke her voice croaked.
"Well, I guess seeing me really does make a difference. I mean, who wouldn't want to see this." I said. That made her laugh. Something I have noticed about Sophie, she always acts like she gets annoyed of me being cocky, but she secretly loves it. And that's one of the reasons why I love Sophie, she loves everyone for all of their qualities, not just some of them.
"Come here." She said. So I walked over to the bed. She grabbed the neckline of my v-neck and pulled me down so my face was level with hers. She kissed me. She kissed me with so much passion and love. I kissed her back immediately while trying to match the passion.
After about to minuets she looked at me. She was even paler than she was before we started. She looked worried, but tried to hide it with a smile, but I knew better than that, and she knew it too. She was about to tell me what was wrong but she got interrupted by a knock on the door. I turn around, its Luke. I looked at her.
"I'll give you two a minute." I said. She gave me a look of disbelief. I leaned down and kissed her, and being the asshole I am, I lingered for a few seconds so that dipstick realizes that he is not allowed to hurt her.
I turned and started to leave the room, but as I did I bumped Luke's shoulder on the way out, just so he would know I wasn't messing around.
~*Sophie's POV*~
Seeing Max leave Luke and I alone in the room made me uncomfortable. I don't want to talk to Luke about anything. Well, at least not yet.
He walked a few steps closer to the bed. "Hey." He said. Wow, he sounded so tired, like he hasn't slept in days.
"Hey," I said while slightly nodding my head. "What's up-," I started to say but he cut me off.
"Before we talk about anything else, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I know its a little late for apologies, but you at least deserve an explanation." He said. He sounded so serious and nervous at the same time.
"Ok," I said. I'm curious as to what he has to say.
"When you got sick that day, I was going to come over after school, but I saw Max standing outside your house. I was curious so I stayed in my car and watched from a distance. He went inside and I watched for a few minutes. You looked so happy. I hadn't seen you that happy in so long. I was jealous because you never looked at me the way you looked at him. I was about to get out of my car but your dad pulled up and I left. I took out my jealousy on you and it was wrong and I was stupid, and I'm very sorry. I hope you forgive me. I know I was being childish and stupid and I just really didn't know what I was doing." He said. I honestly could not believe anything I just heard. He was jealous of the way I looked at Max? But why?
"Why didn't you come talk to me first before you decided to be like this?" I asked him.
"Because I know you, you would have denied you liked him because you just met him. Then you would keep convincing yourself that you couldn't fall for him." He said. He said nothing for a few seconds to let that sink in. Honestly, he was right. That is what I would've done. It's what I did do. But he still could have talked to me about it.
